Hilty A Difficult Out As Philo Defeats Somerset

Hayze Hilty collected three hits in three at bats, as Philo defeated Somerset 16-2 on Friday evening at Bergin Park. Hilty doubled in the third inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the first inning.
Somerset were the first to get on the board in the first when Jed C singled, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the first, Philo answered as Denver Tysinger flew out scoring Hilty to tie the game at one.
Philo flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring seven runs on seven hits to take the lead, 8-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a fielder's choice by Blake Spires that drove in two.
Philo scored eight runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning. Brady Bruggeman singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Hilty doubled, scoring two runs, Tysinger singled, scoring one run, Peyton McNally doubled, scoring two runs, and Roman Bruning drew a walk, scoring one run.
Hilty stepped on the hill first for Philo. The hurler gave up four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out four and walking three. Brayden K led things off on the mound for Somerset. The pitcher allowed nine hits and eight runs (four earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking none. Tysinger pitched two innings of shutout ball for Philo in relief. The hurler gave up zero hits, striking out five and walking none.
Philo tallied 13 hits in the game. Hilty and McNally each collected three hits for Philo. Tysinger, Hilty, and McNally each drove in three runs for Philo. Bruggeman collected two hits for Philo in three at bats. Philo had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Caleb Miller and Bruning led the team with two walks each. Miller stole three bases. Philo ran wild on the base paths, collecting nine stolen bases for the game. Philo didn't commit a single error in the field. Westyn Trout had the most chances in the field with 10.
Jed went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Hudson H went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Somerset in hits.
