Martha's Ride is a tribute to FBI Special Agent Martha Dixon, who was originally from Mount Lebanon. After earning her Chemistry degree from the University of Pittsburgh, she worked as a forensic chemist and joined the FBI in 1987. She was a founding member of the Dixon-Martinez Evidence Response Team. Two days before Thanksgiving in 1994, a gunman entered the D.C. Police Headquarters and opened fire.

In Martha's Honor, her family created The Martha's Fund in 1995 to honor her two greatest passions: running and children. To date, the fund has contributed to over 20 playground projects, with more in the pipeline.

Join us on Oct 3rd for a ride on the Great Allegheny Passage and help raise funds to build playgrounds around Pittsburgh with Martha's Ride . Martha's Ride is an annual charity bike ride honoring FBI Special Agent Martha Dixon. In 1994, she made the ultimate sacrifice protecting fellow officers when a gunman entered D.C. Police Headquarters.

Today, her memory lives on through Martha's Fund, a non-profit dedicated to building and renovating local playgrounds for children across the Greater Pittsburgh area. To date, they have built or renovated over 20 playgrounds!
