A fitness journey is never ending, not because you'll never be happy with yourself, but because once you have accomplished one goal, there could, should, and wi

ll always be another because life isn't about being content, it's about being proud of yourself, hungry for a deeper sense of self, and pushing yourself to new limits you never believed were possible. Hope you all have a wonderful day full of new and exciting challenges. -Trainer Katey

Tara brings over 20 years of fitness experience into every class, blending strength, yoga, and her true passion—Pilates.

At Flex Force Training, she teaches Slow Burn Pilates Foundations: a contemporary Pilates style rooted in classical technique, focused on breath, control, and that mind-body connection that makes everything “click.” Tuesdays at 9:30am and Thursdays at 7AM.

Her classes are designed to leave you feeling taller, stronger, and more connected to your body. But more than that, Tara is all about consistency, showing up, and trusting the process—even when life is full.

She meets every client where they are and helps them realize they’re more capable than they think.

If you’re new, her message is simple: show up, go at your own pace, and give yourself grace. The hardest part is walking through the door.

“You got this—the more you come, the easier it gets.” 💛

One of the sneakiest things we do as humans is turn habits into identities.

“I can’t give up my beer.”

“I’m just a wine person.”

“I’m the fun one.”

“I need it to unwind.”

Maybe.

But there’s a difference between enjoying something and believing you need it to become someone.

There’s a difference between having a beer because you enjoy a beer and having a beer because you don’t believe you can relax without it.

Or feel confident without it.

Or be social without it.

Or be fun without it.

The habit isn’t always the problem.

The story attached to it might be.

Because if you believe a drink is what makes you chill, then what you’re really saying is that being chill isn’t already part of who you are.

If you believe alcohol is what makes you social, then what you’re really saying is that you don’t trust yourself to connect with people without it.

The same thing happens with food, scrolling, shopping, busyness, and a hundred other habits.

Sometimes we’re not protecting the habit.

We’re protecting the identity we’ve attached to it.

Growth often starts when we ask ourselves a simple question:

Do I enjoy this?

Or have I convinced myself I need it to be who I am?

Those are very different things.

And one of them gives you a lot more freedom.

Not every nutrition trend is a good fit for every fitness goal.

Intermittent fasting has become incredibly popular, but if your goal is to get stronger, build muscle, recover well, and perform your best in the gym, it’s worth asking whether it’s helping or holding you back.

Strength training is demanding.

You’re asking your muscles, joints, connective tissues, and nervous system to do hard work.

That work requires fuel.

When people come into workouts underfed, we often see lower energy, reduced performance, slower recovery, and a harder time progressing over time.

Can you work out fasted? Sure.

But “can” and “optimal” aren’t the same thing.

Many people assume that eating less around workouts will help them get better results. In reality, properly fueling before and after training often helps people train harder, recover better, and stay more consistent.

Food isn’t something you need to earn after your workout.

Food is part of your workout.

The goal isn’t to survive your training session.

The goal is to support your body so it can adapt, recover, and come back stronger.

If you’re strength training at Flex Force, don’t be afraid to fuel the work you’re asking your body to do.

One of the biggest mistakes people make when starting a fitness routine is trying to do too much, too soon.

They sign up with the intention of coming 5 or 6 days a week, motivated by excitement and determination.

Then life happens.

Work runs late.
A kid gets sick.
The schedule gets busy.

And suddenly they’re feeling like they’re failing.

That’s why we often encourage people to start with 8 sessions a month at Flex Force.

Not because we don’t believe you can do more.

Because we want you to win first.

Two workouts a week is enough to build consistency. Enough to create momentum. Enough to start feeling stronger, more energetic, and more confident in your routine.

Most importantly, it’s achievable.

When you consistently hit your 8 sessions month after month, you build trust in yourself. You become someone who follows through. You create a habit that actually fits your life.

Then, if you want more, we can always add more.

Success in fitness isn’t built by choosing the most ambitious plan.

It’s built by choosing the plan you can actually stick with.

Start with a win.

Build confidence.

Then grow from there.

Studio fitness isn’t about needing someone else because you’re not strong enough.

It’s about knowing yourself well enough to understand what fills your cup.

Some people come to Flex Force needing accountability. Some people come to Flex Force needing encouragement. Some people need community. Some people need an hour where they don’t have to think about what workout they’re doing or whether they’re doing it right.

They just get to show up.

And there’s strength in that.

Because sometimes the strongest thing you can do isn’t proving you can do everything alone.

It’s allowing yourself to be supported.

Big shout out to Michelle for putting in the work today.

Community isn’t built in the big moments.

It’s built when you tell someone your kid graduated kindergarten.

When you share that your teenager snuck out last weekend and you’re still trying to figure out how to handle it.

When you celebrate a promotion, vent about a hard day, talk about an aging parent, or admit you’re struggling more than you let on.

Every time you share a piece of your life at Flex Force, it’s no small thing.

You’re giving someone the opportunity to know you a little better. To celebrate with you. To support you. To laugh with you. To check in on you next week and ask how things turned out.

That’s how the gap between strangers becomes smaller.

That’s how workout partners become friends.

That’s how community is built.

Not because everyone has the same fitness goals, but because people choose to show up as themselves and let others do the same.

The workouts bring us together.

The stories keep us connected.

Aerial Yoga looks graceful from the outside, but once you’re in the hammock, you’ll quickly realize it’s equal parts strength, balance, trust, and fun.

Whether you’re brand new or looking to switch up your routine, aerial yoga gives you a chance to move your body in a completely different way—while maybe laughing at yourself a little along the way.

Come hang with us. Literally. 💜

The longer I own a gym, the more respect I have for the people who walk through our doors for the very first time.

It’s easy to forget how much courage that actually takes.

To park your car outside a place you’ve never been.

To wonder if you’ll know anyone.

To worry if you’ll be fit enough, strong enough, coordinated enough, or if everyone else has it figured out.

To walk in anyway.

The truth is, most people aren’t afraid of the workout.

They’re afraid of being the new person.

And every single day, people choose courage over comfort and take that first step.

At Flex Force, we see that.

We know what it costs to try something new. We know how loud that little voice can be that tells you to turn around, stay home, and start next week instead.

That’s why we’ll never stop celebrating first classes, first workouts, first questions, first attempts, and even first awkward moments.

Because every member you see crushing it today was once standing exactly where you are.

Nervous.

Unsure.

Wondering if they belonged.

And then they showed up.

If you’re thinking about starting something new, this is your reminder that courage doesn’t look like confidence.

Sometimes courage looks like walking through the door anyway.

We’ll take it from there.

How often do we talk about “getting back” to ourselves?

As if the versions of us that fought through life’s hardest seasons don’t deserve any credit for who we’ve become.

That version of you didn’t know what was coming.

The old you hadn’t navigated the same amount of heartbreak, loss, disappointment, burnout, anxiety, grief, growth, or all the random Tuesday battles nobody else saw.

The old you didn’t have the wisdom you’ve earned.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us got sold the idea that success means returning to who we used to be. The weight we used to be. The energy we used to have. The confidence we used to carry.

But what if the goal isn’t going backward?

What if the goal is becoming someone new?

A version of you that takes care of yourself not because you’re trying to fix something, but because you’ve finally realized you’re worth caring for.

A version of you that moves your body because it supports your life.

A version of you that sets boundaries.

A version of you that rests when needed and pushes when it matters.

The strongest version of you isn’t the one that existed before life happened.

It’s the one being built BECAUSE life happened.

Give credit to every version of yourself that survived. Every version that kept going. Every version that got you here.

You don’t owe your past self a comeback.

You owe yourself a thank you every day you survived that so many never saw, and some credit that you’re doing what you can now to take care of yourself now.

Every part of you deserves this next chapter 💕

Sundays are weird.

Part of you is enjoying the last bit of freedom from the weekend.

The other part is already thinking about the emails, laundry, errands, appointments, and everything waiting for you tomorrow.

So here’s your reminder:

You don’t have to conquer the entire week tonight.

You just have to keep the promises you make to yourself.

Drink some water.
Get some sleep.
Move your body.
Show up when you said you would.

The big transformations aren’t built on motivation.

They’re built on ordinary Tuesdays.
Rainy mornings.
Days you’re tired.
Days you don’t feel like it.
Days nobody is watching.

That’s where confidence comes from.

Not from being perfect.
From proving to yourself, over and over, that you’ll show up anyway.

See you this week, Flex Force.
