TX2K eliminations quick recap. Barely got through round one edging out Myles. Got the clutch tuneup sorted and went 1.17 sixty. Had fueling and ignition issues and the car not doing what it should up topβ¦ only went 195mph on the pass. Kind of glad it didnβt go 215 cause the chute did not deploy and I was sliding on the brakes and stopped 5 foot before the sand trap. Not a fun shutdown ride.
Round 2 we drew #1 qualifier Nick in the truck who had been very consistent the whole week. Knew it was mission impossible to take him out with how much we had been struggling⦠Nick made a killer pass with 6.77 and I spun right at the 60 foot which put an early end to that pass.
This week we had more struggle than I expected with some fueling issues, ignition issues, and I made some mistakes on clutch tuning on two passes which did not help. But overall I think we did pretty well considering we are only a two man crew and with all the issues.
Getting to the event late was probably not a good idea either with having to sort some things, but I had to take care of business stuff first and foremost.
But after that last run I feel like we have a handle on it now, and should be able to do well at the reunion race in Bradenton next month
We are on the 21 hour ride back to South Florida now and the shop will be back open Wednesday. Thank you to my customers who are patient while we have been closed for this event
