I love working with my type A's - we have good laughs together and the focus of our work typically involves getting them present to who they BEING vs. what they are DOING.

There are MANY things than can't be solved with our logical brain.

I love to see people with the ease and mental fitness to take giant leaps. However, one thing I often tell my clients is to not underestimate the power of acting small.

I have found that when we become adults, we like to overcomplicate things and tend to seek and value complex intricate solutions to challenges. Doing this mental gymnastics makes many feel more intelligent, but it often does not work, slows us down or make us spend unnecessary mental energy.

Countless times people I worked with have been amazed at how those little steps accelerated their growth, got them much closer or reached their goals, and eliminated their pain points.

It also generates as a side effect: increased confidence as well as building stronger resilience muscles.

Great analogy from a client on decision making:
“If you shoot too soon, the bird dies – if you shoot too late, it goes away”.

Decision is indeed a lot about timing and you want your "birds" to stay alive and working with you.

Athletes, experts, high performers and masters are thought to work through physical and emotional pain. While it’s a useful skill that make things look so easy, no one is made of steal. And, as anything considered good or virtuous, a strength is often a liability when pushed too far.

Toughness is good… to a point.

Knowing when to stop and recoup takes power, self-awareness, humility, ownership and courage.

Something I often discuss in various forums. Negativity is not bad per say as it serves a purpose. It is when it’s out of balance as we can too often see in companies and the world around us.
(Ex: Lack of acknowledgments, not celebrating the wins, leaving your high performer on their island saving the day, not feeling valued, etc)

Our brain does not know the difference between good or bad. It simply exists for us to function, and we are the ones labeling things as good or bad based on the context from which we see the world.

Change management has been the main topic this past month, and this 7 minutes video illustrates well how brain works on change.
Know how to ride a bike? Sure!
Change just ONE thing and see what happens.
All those thoughts, feelings and sensations you are experiencing while dealing with the change are a necessary part of the process.

Knowledge is not understanding.
To manage change, is to deepen your understanding of that change, and redefine how you relate to it.
