Wouldn’t be almost football season without finding out your draft picks are already on the preseason injury report 🏈

Unfortunately, My mid twenties age showed its ugly face on Sunday when I threw my back out after 11 points of sand.
▫️▪️▫️
Kid just doesn’t have it like he used to 😔
All jokes aside, it felt inevitable that my body was gunna give out soon.
▫️▪️▫️
After brutalizing my body in countless tourneys this summer & primarily having labor intensive work during the week, my body finally told me “enough”
▫️▪️▫️
One of the most under looked aspects of Athletic Performance is finding the adequate rest&recovery to perform at your peak.
▫️▪️▫️
Sometimes, it may be frustrating to skip out on a game or tourney in the short run. Most times, your body will thank you for the strategic rest in the long run.

Wicked day of battling with in East Coast Volleyball’s first tourney of the summer.
▫️▪️▫️
Got a 5th place finish out of a very competitive 30 teams & know what I need to improve upon. I need to take 2 week long hiking trips to Alaska every week so I can be as well conditioned as the 😂

For me, it’s being able to eat half a watermelon while at my desk. 🍉(about 70% joking)
▫️▪️▫️
We grow up thinking finding a steady job that pays the bills & have weekends off will be fulfilling enough for our lives. Personally, it was not and probably will not ever be fulfilling to me.
▫️▪️▫️
Absolutely nothing against the 9 to 5 grind, but eating your bodyweight in watermelon while doing what ya love is the path for me 🤙🏽

As I’m nearing the end of my first full year as coach, I’ve caught my self thinking of how many people, teams, friends, & family for life I have met thru this incredible game.

As a kid, I certainly could imagine how much volleyball I’d play, but just never imagined how much Volleyball & its community would be a part of life.
