Eric L Hedlund Ironman Triathalon training 206 day journey to take me from my current 47 year old poor condition to 48 year old triathlon competitor I invite comments both positive and negative.

I am creating this page to document my 206 day journey to take me from my current 47 year old poor condition to 48 year old triathlon competitor : 600 Meter Swim~20K Bike~5K Run. First I am not a fan of New Year’s resolutions they usually last less than a month then are forgotten. I was told by someone I respect that goals are not real until you put them on paper and have can answer why you have t

hat goal. The first part is easy I have chosen this format as my paper I hope this will help keep me honest and accountable and as I progress I hope it will help to inspire people to see what can be done. The harder question is why the easy answer is to get healthier but while that is important it is not the true driving reason it is accountability. Accountability is my drive for the year both holding myself accountable and those around me. I plan to do a balanced program of weight training and cardio I will post my physical starting point and monthly I will update my progress.

After a year of health issues and insane work issues it is time to get back to work. Diet change and back to daily exercise. Nothing major goal wise just 3 tri's and 3 5k's this year.

Day two of wake my inner Grizzly (I t is getting cold and I want to eat and hibernate) it has been a real fight to get up the motivation to get out and sweat the last couple weeks, so yesterday I had a great workout with Lou No Boundaries Fitness. Today I went for a 6 mile ride not to far but the first mile and a half is up a class 5 hill so that sure beats you up. I need a goal to push for so I signed up for the cupid run on February 14th here in Da Burgh it’s a 1 mile run that is not to hard but you do it in your underwear now those of you that know me know that humility is not an issue for me but if I am going to run the streets of Pittsburgh in my underwear I am not going to do it with the last 20 pounds of “insulation” bouncing around. It is for a great cause. The Children's Tumor Foundation is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis (NF), the term for three distinct disorders: NF1, NF2 and schwannomatosis. So while I am digging deep to get ready I am asking anyone who can to dig deep and make a donation to help. Go to my web site and lend a helping hand http://my.cupids.org/EricHedlund

Make a donation toward Eric Hedlund's fundraising effort in support of Cupid's Undie Run.
