The Tournament of The Americas will be turned over to Mike Nyitray as of this month. I will be moving to Pennsylvania as of May 7th. Please contact Mike at [email protected] for tournament information. Our website at bowlingamericas.com will continue to be on the web. The Tournament will not run in 2021 due to covid 19 and time restraints but Mike expects to get it going again in 2022. Thank you to Mike for agreeing to further the tournament and a hugh Thank You to all who made my tournament life interesting since 1976. I will miss it.

We called into the brand new Hollywood Bowl, York on Monday as they were getting ready to open for the first time. As usual the centre looks fantastic, 24 lanes of QubicaAMF Edge string Pinspotters together with BesX scoring.

Thanks to Covid 19 and the second wave of it, I'm sitting at home thinking I should be with bowlers this week at the Tournament of The Americas. It's feeling very strange to wake up knowing I'm not going to the bowling center. I miss it and our bowlers. Will this ever be over - it's worse than ever now in South Florida. I'm thinking will we have it done by 2021 and can back to life as we knew it.

USBC cncelled all thier tournaments for this year as we did. Some other tournaments have chosen to run anyway where bowling centers are open. If you are participating in any, please keep yourself as safe as possible. This virus is real and I just don't want to hear of any more friends testing positive probably because they needed to open their businesses or go bowling. Bowling will be back to normal play at some time, seems we can wait until it's all safe.

As you must know, bowling centers in Broward County, FL. are still closed. They will open sooner or later, but the timeline for doing so is not known yet. However because of the uncertainty of the openings and the contunuation of concern for the Covid_19 continuation, the 58th Tournament of The Americas which was scheduled for July 2020 has be cancelled. We will be back in July of 2021 and hope all will be well then. I am available for questions, just email me at [email protected]. USBC CANCELS 2020 CONVENTION; MCDANIEL ELECTED USBC PRESIDENT

ARLINGTON, Texas – The United States Bowling Congress Board of Directors approved a special resolution to cancel the 2020 USBC Convention and postpone the Annual Meeting until 2021 because of COVID-19 public health restrictions.

So thinking about Tournament of The Americas 2020. Don't know if it will happen. Even if the virus seems to end before the end of July and travel starts to happen again, with everyone struggling now who would want to spend the money for the tournament. It would probably be the last thing on anyone's to do list. Need to think about being safe and getting back to what was normal if that is possible.
