JV/C-Squad Results vs Sebeka

Panther Softball JV played a solid game against Sebeka winning 20-5. The game was tied 5-5 going into the bottom of the
third inning when the Panther bats finally woke up to take over the game. Some walks and timely hits along with smart base
running put 13 runs on the board that inning. The highlight being a bunt from Ady Revering that with some errors from Sebeka
turned into Ady getting home. The Panthers added one more in the fourth to end the game by the run rule. Becca Ahlers pitched
for the Panthers throwing a complete game striking out 7 batters. Every Panther contributed in this game. Panther Softball C-Squad won 16-10 against Sebeka. Laney Grinager got the start and Whitney Weber pitched the second half of the game. The Panthers did a great job moving extra bases when the opportunity arose. Whitney picked up 3 hits. Camille, Mya, Kaitlyn, and Mariah each had 2 hits on the day. Venna, Ashlyn, and Ady each had one hit.

Nice work ladies!

Panthers Split with Sebeka

Game one was a close one on the diamond. The Trojans scored first in the top of the second inning after two walks were issued and a single helped them cross the plate. The Panthers got one back in their half of the inning after a walk and Evy Grinager teased the catcher in an attempt to throw her out leading off on third base, but Grinager had other plans taking off on the throw to cross the plate. The Panthers took a 4-2 lead after an Anna Helling double, a walk, and a couple of ground balls that were too hard to handle. The Trojans got one back making it a 4-3 game in the top of the fourth inning. That would be the final score of the game with the Panthers locking in on defense and sealing the win for the Panthers. Sydney Lorine pitched all seven innings. Lorine spread five hits and seven walks while striking out eight Trojan batters in her duties.

Game two saw the Trojans hungry for revenge and cold Panther bats for the first four innings. Sebeka put up three runs before the Panthers got things started in the box. Then, an Evy Grinager laser up the gut sparked some life into the Panther offense. Elora Wagner laid down a nice bunt and an errant throw pushed Grinager around the bases to score and Wagner would make it to third base. Wagner then scored on a beauty of a sacrifice bunt by Amelia Van Batavia. A couple walks allowed runners on the bases again with Marisa Duberowski scoring on a sacrifice bunt by Anna Helling. Sydney Lorine then hit a hard single up the gut to score Steidl. Which was enough to put the Lady Panthers in the lead 4-3. After a dropped third strike, single, and a walk, The Trojans made a deep cut in the score with a grand slam and added one more run taking the lead back 8-4. The Panthers got three more back in the top of the sixth making it a 8-7 game highlighted by a Alyssa Revering double. Sebeka added some insurance in the bottom of the inning with a 10-7 lead. The Panthers made a valiant effort in the top of the seventh getting one more run and putting runners on the bases but just couldn’t push enough across surrendering the game at a score of 10-8. Evy Grinager pitched six innings spreading ten Trojan hits across her time in the circle and striking out six batters.

The Ladies are making a lot of improvements, making some great defensive plays, and showing some grit. They have improved their record to 8-2 on the year. Well done Ladies!

Panther take the win in 10 innings from WDC with a score of 7-6!

In a game nobody will be forgetting about soon, the Lady Panthers sealed the win in an epic battle against WDC in ten innings! As always, WDC made it a daunting task for the Panthers to earn the win. Defense, pitching, and aggressive offense by both teams saw the game go into extra innings with a score of 5-5. WDC took a one run lead in the eighth inning, but an Elora Wagner double and Lilly Steidl line drive stated that the Panthers weren't ready to end the game quite yet. Tied 6-6 going into the bottom of the tenth, the Panthers loaded the bases after reaching on a dropped third strike and an Amelia Van Batavia single that moved Evy Grinager to third (Van Batavie took second on the throw), WDC intentionally walked Autumn Hartman to load the bases. Skoglund torched an absolute laser up the gut, but it was snagged out of the air by the WDC shortstop. The Panthers gambled on a bunt with the bases loaded with one out. Lily Steidl executed a PERFECT bunt that the Wolverines couldn't defend pushing the winning run cross the plate sealing the win with a score of 7-6. Just two of the defensive highlights were a Bri Skoglund unassisted double play, and Sydney Lorine gunning down a Wolverine runner at home plate from left field. Every Panther played an important role in the victory. Evy Grinager got the start and battled through nine innings keeping the Panthers in the game and giving them a chance to take home the win. Grinager spread out ten hits and struck out four Wolverines. Sydney Lorine took the top of the tenth inning pitching a scoreless inning and striking out two WDC batters. Amazing game Lady Panthers!

Rest up for a busy next week of softball with a New York Mills doubles header on Monday, Sebeka double header on Tuesday, and a game with Browerville/Eagle Valley on Thursday. All happening at our City Park Field.

OTC Softball Results:

Game 1

The Panthers pounded out eleven hits in game one, while also taking advantage of eleven walks issued by OTC. The ladies also were running wild stealing eighteen bases throughout the game increasing their savviness taking extra bases all night. The hot bat of game one was held by Henlee Mrnak with three hits (one triple and two doubles) while collecting five RBIs. Amelia Van Batavia, Sydney Lorine, and Bri Skoglund all tallied two hits in the game. Anna Helling and Lily Steidl also added to the fun with a hit a piece. Sydney Lorine went the distance on the mound. A few walks and HBP allowed OTC to push some runs across, but some defensive help and eight strikeouts kept the game in the favor of the Panthers 17-7.

Game 2

The Lady Panthers were the home team for game two and OTC scored first on a pass ball. The Bulldog lead didn’t last long after the Panthers found their patience at the plate, drawing ten walks and continued to be a nightmare on the basepath for the Bulldogs. Pesky baserunning was key in putting the pressure on the OTC defense. The Panthers collected five hits in game two, evenly shared by Anna Helling, Evy Grinager, Brooke Schilling, Henlee Mrnak, and Sydney Lorine. Bri Skoglund got her first varsity start in the circle, giving up three unearned runs and spreading out three hits by the Bulldogs. Skoglund tallied five Ks in her effort with a final score of 13-3 moving the Panthers to a 6-1 record.

4/21 Varsity Softball Results vs Menahga

Game 1

The Panthers racked up 32 runs in the first game after taking advantage of 16 walks and piling up twenty hits through four innings of play! The Lady Panthers had a day at the plate and it is safe to say that their legs were tired after the first game. When runners were on the base paths, one of our batters would deliver a solid hit to move runners across the plate! Offensive leaders were Evy Grinager with six hits and Henlee Mrnak with four in the game. Amelia Van Batavia, Sydney Lorine, and Elora Wagner each collected two hits with Anna Helling, Brooke Schilling, Lily Steidl, and Bri Skoglund each hitting safely once. Evy Grinager, in commanding fashion pitched three scoreless innings giving up only two hits while striking out seven Braves only needing forty-three pitches to take care of business. Bri Skoglund pitched the final inning fanning two Brave batters and slamming the door for the mercy rule win.

Game 2

The Panthers were the home team for game two. Sydney Lorine got the nod to pitch. Three walks in the first inning allowed for one Brave to cross the plate on a pass ball, but Lorine reset and locked in nicely for the rest of the game securing the win for the Panthers while striking out seven batters in her three half innings of work while giving up only one hit. Offensively, the Lady Panthers came out strong again putting up eleven runs on the bottom of the first inning lit up by a home run by Evy Grinager and two doubles by Mya Holmquist. The rest of game two was a little quieter as the Panthers worked station to station and collected hits to move more runners across the plate. The Panthers closed the game in the fourth inning putting the final two Panthers across the plate to apply the fifteen after four innings mercy rule again with a score of 16-1. The Ladies had a total of eleven hits in the game with Grinager leading the way again with four, Mya Holmquist with three, Anna Helling with two, with Autumn Hartman and Helee Mrnak each collecting one hit a piece.

04/17/2026

The Lady Panthers came out of the gates aggressively scoring two runs on a couple WDC defensive miscues allowing Sydney Lorine and Henlee Mrnak to cross the plate. WDC then tied the game in the bottom of the second inning on two hits and two defensive indifferences. The Panther bats went cold through the sixth inning and the pesky WDC runners took advantage of Panther errors allowing them to cross five more Wolverines across the plate. In the top of the seventh inning, a flicker of offensive light was lit as Mya Holmquist connected with the ball for a DEEP home run over the left field fence. Amelia Van Batavia then hit a line drive single into left field, but the flame was put out by the WDC pitcher shortly after. The Panther offense was held to five hits spread evenly by Lily Steidl, Brooke Schilling, Mya Holmquist, Amelia Van Batavia, and Bri Skoglund. Evy Grinager got the start for the Panthers pitching four innings while fanning six WDC batters. Evy was attacking the zone and hitting her spots making the WDC batter work hard to earn a spot on the base paths. Sydney Lorine finished the last two innings striking out two and working in some nice off speed pitches.

The Lady Panthers take both games from BHV in season opener!

The Panthers came out hot putting up four runs in the bottom of the first inning. BHV put across their only run in the 3rd after a double off the fence, then were blanked by the Panther defense for the rest of the game. Later they put up six in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth to seal the mercy rule with a score of 11-1. Offensively, Sydney Lorine led the offense with three hits while Henlee Mrnak, and Evy Grinager recorded two hits, and six other Panther batters had one hit at the plate. Sydney Lorine pitched all five innings, giving up one hit, and one run while fanning seven BHV batters.

Game two saw a little tighter game for three innings with a 3-1 game until the Panther offense came alive for five runs and tacked on one more ending the game at a score of 9-1. The Panthers had nine hits with Henlee Mrnak and Brooke Schilling leading the way with three hits each and combining for five RBIs. Lorine had two hits, and Bri Skoglund recorded one hit. Evy Grinager went the distance on the mound spreading seven hits over seven innings of work while striking out twelve.
