Another one shipped! We are moving along 🄰! New punch design that is turning out to be extremely durable and light. 3.5lbs is about as good as it is going to get. Thank you all for your continued patience and support.

Finally finished a long awaited ladies sized heater shield. This is one of my thicker builds but was able to shave a lot of weight since it was sized for a smaller build. Hope you love it and it serves you well ā¤ļø

Another one done and about to head out the door! Laying these in the floor for pictures really do not do them justice.

Hello Beautiful People!

I wanted to give everyone a quick state of the union on Bluegrass Buhurt 🤣. I’ll try to keep it brief, but anyone who knows me knows I talk too much.

We are still working through our backlog of orders, but the good news is I’m finally getting toward the end of that list! If you’re still waiting on an order, soon...hopefully.

I severely underestimated how busy this summer would be. Between running the shop and fighting with the Lexington Lycans Buhurt Club almost every other weekend since Carnage, I’ve spent a lot more time away from the shop than expected. I also took on more orders than I realistically should have, which dug me into a pretty deep hole. šŸ˜‚

Some delays have also come from testing new shield-making methods and materials. The small axeman’s bucklers are pretty well dialed in, and I’m very happy with their current quality.

The heaters and punch shields have been undergoing a lot of R&D. My goal is always to reduce weight while maintaining durability—which, as anyone who knows shields can tell you, is easier said than done when they’re getting beaten with steel!

I’ve had some shields fail during testing, but those failures have helped me improve the process. The good news is I’ve recently had some major breakthroughs, and the newest wave of heaters heading out are exceeding my expectations by a large margin. I believe these improvements will translate very well to the punch shields too.

As always, if you ever have an issue with something I’ve made, please reach out. I’ll do everything I can to make it right and make sure you receive a quality product.

Our tabards and weapons have been fantastic, and I’m extremely happy with the quality there as well.

Thank you all for your patience, support, and understanding while I dig myself out of this backlog. A picture of two of our bucklers being used over seas by two wonderful customers šŸ’•!

New tabard and choppa heading out the door! Complementary belt flags have been turning up a lot lately. The seamstress is grateful for your business! Remember tabards are on a different production schedule so reach out if you have questions!

Hey everyone—it’s been a while.

I wanted to check in and let you all know that I’m still actively working through a large backlog of orders. I know I haven’t been posting much lately, but please know that Bluegrass Buhurt is fully committed to delivering on every order.

I also want to sincerely apologize for the missed deadlines. Earlier on, I took on more than I should have and overpromised. That’s on me, and I appreciate your patience while I work to make it right.

If you have an open order, please don’t hesitate to reach out—whether it’s for an update or just to check in. I’m continuing to make steady progress on shield orders.

For anyone interested, tabards and aventails are on a separate production schedule, so those orders are not affected in the same way and can still be placed as normal.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been working with suppliers and making adjustments to improve my workflow so I can serve you all better moving forward.

I also plan to post a video soon to introduce myself and give a better look at how I operate—it’s just been a challenge finding the time while focusing on getting orders completed.

Much love to all of you. I truly appreciate your support and patience. If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out anytime.

I'm ecstatic to announce our forge is partnering with Bluegrass Buhurt to bring you Buhurt International weapons that meet both the Authenticity Committee and Safety requirements of the sport. As an intial offering I have three weapons that are finished and ready to ship!

Details:
Material: 4130 Blades (Tempered), 1026 Eyes (Tempered), Oak Hafts finished with boiled linseed oil.

Axe on the Left: Minimum One Hand, Open Beard. Body: Weight .646kg, Length 49.84cm, Blade: Length 10.6cm, Thickness 3mm, Striking Surface 9.3cm $125

Axe in the Middle: Maximum One Handed, Splitter. Body: Weight .960kg, Length 90.01cm, Blade: Length 10.5cm, Thickness 3mm, Striking Surface 8.5cm $145

Polearm on the right: Minimum Pole Arm, Ed Head. Body: Weight 2.348kg, Length 132.25cm. Blade: Length 3.7cm, Thickness 3cm, Striking Surface 14.9cm $185

Notes:
All weapons are slightly under weight so you can customize them how you like without going over specs. Striking surfaces were measured with a straight ruler and did not factor in any curvature, some slightly under striking faces may pass depending on the weapons checker and measuring device used.

Warranty:
These weapons are experimental. Not in the "I don't trust them" sense but more of a 'I'm going to be pestering you about how they held up after matches and what you would change about them'. I will repair or replace any weapon purchased from my shop free of charge in the first 90 days after purchase.

Edit: Update 13:37 JUL 8th. The polearm no longer passes BI AC and thus unavailable for use in the sport of Buhurt
