We will be having a homerun derby at the Paragould Community Pep Rally tomorrow night from 5:30-7:30!

BATTLELINE HOME RUN DERBY

We’re ready to see who can bring the power tomorrow at the Paragould Community Pep Rally!

AGE GROUPS & HOME RUN DISTANCES
6–7 Year Olds: 120–140 ft
8–9 Year Olds: 140–160 ft
10 Year Olds: 160–180 ft

HOW IT WORKS

Each player will get 5 swings to see how far they can hit it!

Coach/parent pitch or front toss
Balls will be marked where they land
A coach will handle the official measurements
Scores will be tracked by age division on the whiteboard

SCORING:
• Ball doesn't reach the cone = 0 points
• Ball reaches the outfield grass = 1 point
• Ball reaches the designated HR cone = 3 points

The boys will help mark where the balls land, and we'll keep the competition moving while tracking the scores.

At the end of the derby, we'll crown a winner in each age division and give them a special shout out on the Battleline page!

Last night, our Battleline boys got to experience a moment they will never forget.

They ran out onto the field with the Memphis Redbirds, stood alongside the players, and got to experience the excitement of professional baseball from the field. For a group of young baseball players, it was a pretty special night.

We are incredibly thankful to the Memphis Redbirds for giving our boys this opportunity and creating a memory they will carry with them for a long time.

One year ago, Battleline began with a vision to build something bigger than baseball.

What a year it's been. We've made memories, built friendships, celebrated victories, learned through challenges, and watched young athletes grow both on and off the field.

Thank you to every player, parent, coach, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter who has been part of our first year.

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." — Colossians 3:23

In baseball, it's easy to play hard when things are going your way. When you're getting the hits, making the plays, and hearing your name called, effort comes naturally. But what about the days when you're in a slump? What about when you're on the bench, playing a position you don't like, or practicing a drill no one will ever notice? That's where character is built.

Paul reminds us in Colossians 3:23 that our work is never ultimately for coaches, teammates, parents, or fans. Everything we do is an opportunity to honor the Lord. The way we run out a ground ball, encourage a teammate after an error, or give our best during conditioning says just as much about us as anything that happens during the game.

The greatest athletes are not simply the most talented. They are the ones who choose faithfulness over feelings. They keep working when it's difficult, keep serving when no one notices, and keep giving their best because excellence is an act of worship before it is ever a performance for people.

So today, give your best effort, even if no one applauds it. Work hard when no one is watching. Honor Christ in the little things, because those little things become the foundation of great character.

Play for something bigger than the scoreboard. Play for His glory.
