Not all supplement research answers the same question. 🤔
Some studies test a single ingredient on its own which can be useful, but it only tells you how that ingredient behaves in isolation. Others test the finished formula exactly as it's taken, which tells you how everything performs together.
Those aren't interchangeable. A product can point to ingredient-level research without the finished formula ever being tested as a whole, and that's the gap most labels don't spell out for you.
In practice, that means you could be taking a supplement where one ingredient has been studied on its own, but the actual formula in your bottle, at the dose and combination you're taking it in, was never required to be tested as a whole.
Next time you're looking for a supplement, it's worth asking a different question: not just "has this ingredient been studied," but "has this formula been studied."
