This new low-bar training is no joke ! When all I have ever trained was high bar ! But APRE 6 last set for 5 ADJ +/-

This is what consistent programming looks like over time load goes up because the process is locked in.
If you're grinding through training without direction, that's the problem. Individualized coaching. Real progression.
That's The Skinner Method.

You've probably seen lifters do a heavy single before their working sets and wondered why.
It is not ego. It is Post-Activation Potentiation — and if you are not using it, you are leaving performance on the bar.

What is PAP?
Post-Activation Potentiation is a neuromuscular phenomenon where exposing your nervous system to a near-maximal load temporarily elevates your ability to produce force. A heavy priming set increases motor unit recruitment and rate of force development, which carries over to your working sets if you time the rest correctly.

The practical translation: you hit something heavy, give your CNS time to recover from the effort (not the fatigue), and then your working sets become faster and stronger without adding extra reps or sets to your program.
How to apply it:

Select a priming load between 85–93% of your 1RM
Perform 1–2 reps with that load — controlled, crisp, no grinding
Rest 3–8 minutes (longer rest for higher loads and bigger athletes)

Perform your planned working sets

That rest window is everything. Too short and you hit fatigue instead of potentiation. Too long and the effect dissipates. Most intermediate lifters land around 5 minutes.

Who this works for:
PAP is most effective for intermediate to advanced lifters with a reliable 1RM and solid movement patterns. If you are newer to training, your time is better spent building consistent mechanics. But if you have been under the bar for a while and your main lifts feel flat or slow despite good programming, this is worth adding.

Real example:
Working sets: Squat 4x5 at 75%
Priming set: 1 rep at 90%, rest 5 minutes
Result: Bar speed improves, the working weight feels faster, and your positions tend to be sharper because your CNS is primed to recruit the right fibers.

This is one of the tools built into The Skinner Method programming. The goal is not just to accumulate work — it is to make every set count. PAP is one way we get more out of the sets that matter most.

If you are running your own programming and your main lifts feel like they're stalling, try this before your next heavy day. It costs nothing extra and the research backs it up.

Drop a comment if you have questions about how to fit this into your current training structure. And if you want a program that actually uses your nervous system instead of just beating it up — message me.

Not "be better than him." Not "be elite by January." Not "hit a number you saw on the internet."

Yesterday. That's the only opponent that's ever been honest with you.

Most online coaching/personal training is a recycled spreadsheet from someone who's never observed the lifter move and who does not know how to properly program an athlete or individual.

That's not coaching. That's selling templates. And not caring about what the athlete/client actually wants to improve.

I built The Skinner Method because the lifters I've worked with, Air Force airmen, D2 athletes, deserved better than that. Custom programming. Weekly video form review. A coach who reads your AMRAPs every week.

Same standards I apply to the collegiate athletes, scaled for online delivery.

The roster is small on purpose. Waitlist is open.

Free 4-week starter program if you just want to get started.
