Our indoor auditorium is stroller-accessible and air-conditioned — a welcoming retreat any time during the morning. Here’s what’s inside:

🌱 Little Sprouts Wellness Nook — An OT-led indoor developmental play space for infants and toddlers, brought to you by Motivated OT Mama. It features age-appropriate sensory toys, developmental materials, and a nurturing indoor environment to support your little one’s growth. Perfect for babies and toddlers who need a quieter, more structured play experience. Plus free baby carrier checks and developmental screenings provided!

🤱 Nursing Nook — A cozy, private space for nursing and feeding families, hosted by Ruth Jameson PhD, IBCLC of Orland Park Lactation Care. Ruth will be on-site throughout the morning for informal support and questions. All feeding methods and all families warmly welcome!

Both spaces are right next to each other so your little one can play before or after a feeding.

One of our most beautiful drop-in areas runs all morning in the Butterfly & Herb Garden just beyond the Nature Center entrance. Here’s what you’ll find:

🦎 Turtle Learning & Race Zone — Meet live turtles and isopods, learn about local wildlife from our Lake Katherine Nature Center naturalists, and cheer on the turtle races!

📚 Nature Book Nook & Story Times — A cozy drop-in space hosted by the Palos Heights Public Library team. Three rounds of nature-inspired story times at 10, 10:30, and 11am — plus books and nature materials to explore at your own pace in sensory-friendly story tents.

🎨 Nature Crafts & Sensory Stations — Hands-on nature crafts, water and dirt sensory play, and natural materials exploration led by the Lake Katherine naturalist team.

Our festival grounds lawn — between the waterfall and parking lot — is home to three incredible drop-in spaces running all morning:

🌳 Nature Play Area (ages 2–9) — Logs and tree cookies to climb on + lawn games create an unstructured, imaginative outdoor play space kids will love.

👶 Tiny Tots Nature Nook (infants & toddlers) — A dedicated outdoor blanket space hosted by children’s librarian Sydney, with books, toys, and nature materials for the littlest adventurers.

🛒 Nature + Wellness Market (all ages) — Browse 15+ local artisans, wellness vendors, food & beverage, and community organizations. Plus an amazing raffle!

🌸 Highlighting a couple of fest wellness classes fit for mamas — prenatal, postpartum, and everything in between!

Prenatal-Friendly Pilates is a gentle, lakefront core and strength Pilates mat session designed to be safe and supportive for prenatal and postpartum bodies — no prior Pilates experience needed! (This class is open to all adults, in addition to moms.)

And if you have a little one in a stroller, don’t miss our mini Stroller Strides class on the lakefront trails — a total-body workout for moms with babies in strollers and always safe for our prenatal crew too.
