Competitor Spotlight: Rebecca Riski
Rebecca Riski is stepping into Alaska Speed Week with a fresh perspective—and a seriously unique ride.
New to drag racing as of last May, she saw Speed Week as the perfect mix of challenge, seat time, and pure fun.
“I thought Speed Week would be an incredible experience—and a chance to really improve my track skills. Plus… who wouldn’t want the adventure of driving their car as fast as possible day after day? Camping, good company, scenic drives—it’s basically the ultimate staycation.”
She’ll be piloting a 2008 BMW M5, powered by a high-revving, naturally aspirated F1-inspired V10 paired with an SMG gearbox. It’s not your typical drag car—and that’s exactly the point.
The car is new to her and, by her own admission, a challenge to drive, with its paddle-shift “hybrid manual” setup keeping things interesting every pass.
Since last season, she’s been steadily building the car into a more capable machine, including:
Infinity CSL carbon plenum intake system
(On the way) Infinity equal-length headers
Racing radiator
Racing oil cooler
Carbon driveshaft
Additional supporting upgrades
Her goal?
Get the car dialed for both drag racing and autocross—and maximize every opportunity to learn behind the wheel.
