Competitor Spotlight: Rebecca Riski

Rebecca Riski is stepping into Alaska Speed Week with a fresh perspective—and a seriously unique ride.

New to drag racing as of last May, she saw Speed Week as the perfect mix of challenge, seat time, and pure fun.

“I thought Speed Week would be an incredible experience—and a chance to really improve my track skills. Plus… who wouldn’t want the adventure of driving their car as fast as possible day after day? Camping, good company, scenic drives—it’s basically the ultimate staycation.”

She’ll be piloting a 2008 BMW M5, powered by a high-revving, naturally aspirated F1-inspired V10 paired with an SMG gearbox. It’s not your typical drag car—and that’s exactly the point.

The car is new to her and, by her own admission, a challenge to drive, with its paddle-shift “hybrid manual” setup keeping things interesting every pass.

Since last season, she’s been steadily building the car into a more capable machine, including:

Infinity CSL carbon plenum intake system
(On the way) Infinity equal-length headers
Racing radiator
Racing oil cooler
Carbon driveshaft
Additional supporting upgrades

Her goal?
Get the car dialed for both drag racing and autocross—and maximize every opportunity to learn behind the wheel.

Competitor Spotlight: Ryan Bode

Ryan Bode is bringing a 2024 Mustang GT to Alaska Speed Week, and he’s aiming to make a statement. His goal? To push his car to be the fastest S550/S650 Mustang running naturally aspirated — no power adders, just smart mods and driving.

His setup includes lightweight mods, headers, intake, tune, and a drag pack — a clean, purpose-built combination focused on performance.

So why Alaska Speed Week?

“It just looks like serious fun. I love driving my car… so why not?”

Ryan is taking on the challenge solo, which means planning will be key. He’s looking forward to the parts of the adventure that make events like this special — campfire conversations, long miles on the road, and even the inevitable roadside breakdowns that remind you what the car community is all about.

Another big motivation for him is helping bring more awareness of the track and its activities to the next generation of drivers.

He’s even planning to live out of the car for the week — including sleeping in it if he can make it work. If the experiment succeeds, the plan is to take things even further and drive the same setup all the way down to Sick Week next year to see how it stacks up.

The first registered racer for Alaska Speed Week 2026 is officially on the board.

Alex Gould is bringing his AMC Ambassador back to the highway — and if you’ve been with us since the beginning, you know this family has been part of the story since our inaugural year in 2023.

Alex and his dad, Dale, have been with us from day one.
