About the Palm Springs Eagles
Hello! My name is Tony Carrillo Jr., and I am the manager of the Palm Springs Eagles, founded in January 2026. I moved to Palm Springs in 2016 not knowing many people in the desert, and joining the Palm Springs Gay Softball League (PSGSL) quickly became a turning point in my life. I was fortunate to become part of Team Streetbar, which felt like family almost immedia
tely. Since then, softball has grown into a meaningful and lasting part of my life. After the Spring 2024 season, the team I was playing on went in a different direction, and I decided to take a leap and start my own team. My vision was to create more than just a team — I wanted to build a family. A group of individuals who grow together, support one another, and most importantly, enjoy the game both on and off the field. My love for softball was inspired by The Broken Hearts Club, which beautifully captures the camaraderie, connection, and joy that come from being part of a team. That same spirit of friendship, inclusivity, and competition is what I strive to foster with the Palm Springs Eagles. Palm Springs Eagles Code of Conduct
The Palm Springs Eagles are built on respect, accountability, and teamwork. We ask all players to uphold the following:
Treat all players, coaches, umpires, and spectators with dignity and respect. Arrive on time for practices, meetings, and games. Notify the manager in advance if you will be late or absent (at least 4 hours prior to game time). Strive to be your best by practicing with purpose, giving full effort, and staying focused on the game. Be open to feedback and growth. Win and lose with grace, demonstrating strong sportsmanship at all times. Be honest and take responsibility for your actions. Do not engage in intimidation, bullying, or disrespectful behavior. Play for the team, not just for yourself. Support and encourage your teammates through both success and challenges. Learn and respect the rules of the game. Respect all facilities, equipment, and surrounding areas. Honor the integrity and judgment of umpires. And most importantly — have fun!
