Talk about a phenom, welcome this guy to the 210kg+ sn**ch club. The scary thing is he almost power sn**ches it! Very few men have achieved this feat of strength. I can't wait to see what this olympic year brings in terms of sessions, performances, and hopeful records. If you don't love this sport, I urge you to start getting involved, it will blow your mind (and possibly make you stronger :)).

Not that I love box squats, but I disagree with people who consistently preach about there system being elite but using zero evidence to provide rationale for what they say. That being said, Simmons and Westside Barbell are one of those groups. He made comment in an interview the other day that nobody squats in his gym they only believe in box squats. His rationale with no factual evidence: everybody can squat 15% more than they can box squat, it is just a fact. False. Several studies measuring box squats compared to traditional squats have consistently measured higher amounts of peak, average, and rate of force development for box squatting. Meaning box squats equate to higher weights being that force is relatively equivalent to strength. You ever think maybe because you are practicing with higher forces more often, that your strength levels go up in the squat...woah, that is genius! Who the heck thought of that concept! Anyway, nobody ever fact checks this guy, so I though it would be fun to do. By the way, being a scholar, I am going to post references that everyone should read because you should never believe everything you hear. Always do your research.
