Florida Yeti Lacrosse

Florida Yeti Lacrosse Florida Yeti Lacrosse is a boys youth lacrosse program operating in the East Orlando and Oviedo area. Why Choose Yeti? Some questions to ponder:

1.

The “Value System” …

Our program has an actual curriculum designed over a 22-year span that had been developed into a blueprint for teaching ball players of all ages the “parts” of this sport applied to the “whole” game. We teach and stress “attention to detail” for proficient decision making and execution of skill to apply our “whole” game with purpose- we teach, train, and play with a purpos

e! We operate under the approach of a “parts” to the “whole” system of teaching. This type of system will help your player learn the skill sets needed to apply them to the “whole” principles and play in a game. Our “whole” is also a system of movement and decision making on the field. The system has applications of every principle in this sport applied to it so your player learns the totality of the sport at a young age. This will pay off immensely when he has to perform at the high school level. He will have a fully immersed education already before even stepping on a high school field and will be able to operate within that system. What is the end game or purpose as a parent and your child’s involvement and/or development? What is your purpose of involving your son in a youth sport activity?

2. Do you want a “valued return” on your monetary investment?

3. Do you have short, mid, and long term developmental goals for your child?

4. And if so, are these goals focused on and being applied to a destination or “end game?”

We ponder every one of these questions. In fact, we take them into account and have built our system around these very IMPORTANT objectives and goals. We believe these objectives need to be asked, answered, and actively pursued throughout the course of your child’s experience. We are not a “sitting” service where you simply drop off your child then pick them up at coordinated times in the hopes that the coaching staff is doing the right thing just because they were the “coaches.”

To place your son in our program is an opportunity for him not only to learn the sport of lacrosse, but he will learn “how to learn.” We teach and stress the process of “listen, learn, and apply,” a teaching method that translates into all aspects of a young man’s life. We use this approach heavily when we teach the techniques involved in this sport. But we don’t stop there. We are able to take these techniques and skill sets and explain the “whole.” We are able to teach your son the proper application of these skills and most importantly the “when, why and how” skill when applied in game situations and components of the “whole” flow of the game- offense, defense, transition, etc. Once learned, we train, train, and train for efficiency to be able to play with speed, strength, and confidence. This is a rate of return on your hard earned dollar. We work for you. Not only can we verbally teach this sport, but we can physically teach it in the proper manner because we have not only coached it, but have played the sport as well. We understand the nuances of the game as well as the on and off field issues, stresses, etc. that your child WILL experience. We will properly prepare him on how to handle these nuances. We develop proper, strong, and efficient HABITS. In closing, we stress that you do your homework. We offer you the opportunity to attend one or two of our instructional clinics for free. You are given the opportunity to meet us, ask us questions in regards to our program and its goals and functionality, and experience the training with child participation. Three things weigh heavily on our minds at all times: the growth and development of your child, the rate of return on your investment, and growing the sport the proper way it should be grown. We will apply the proper teaching of the fundamentals, principles and “lax I.Q.” (lacrosse intelligence). Compare programs, ask simple questions such as “What is your program’s “blueprint for development”?” and “What are the short, mid, and long term goals of the program?” Ask questions you would ask any service you would spent a sizeable investment on. We are confident at Yeti that we can not only answer all your questions, but we will prove it through our training program. Our coaching staff is a proven program that has been one of the top teaching programs in the state for over a decade. They have produced All Conference, All Met, and college prospects for over a decade. Tony Moreschi

Director of Training

Tony Moreschi grew up in D.C. Metro region playing lacrosse at a young age and attended high school at Bishop Ireton High School, earned honors and conference championship. He attended and played college lacrosse at Roanoke College. He has played both field and box (indoor) club lacrosse. Moreschi relocated to Florida in the early nineties and continued to play post collegiate men’s club ball. With the lack of experienced coaching in this region. Moreschi began coaching at the high school club level during this time. He then became involved at the youth level as well as developing independent programs that were used as models for today’s league play. Moreschi has coached and developed all levels of players from 1st grade to 12th grade (FHSAA) in a yearlong capacity throughout a 22-year span. He has developed All Conference, All Metro, and All American players and a bevy of college recruits. He was involved in this community when it first started and understands the “lay of the land” from youth through high school and to college.
