After a great deal of reflection and conversation, we have made the decision to postpone Velocity Fastpitch tryouts until the end of July.
Seven seasons ago, Velocity was created with a purpose:
To lead and develop every athlete’s ability to perform at a competitive level while embracing the concepts of putting others before self through teamwork, commitment, and accountability. Through the love of softball and leadership, we strive to instill strong character, values, respect, and life skills that will help our athletes grow into responsible young adults and productive members of the community.
Over time, we feel we have lost focus of some of the things that made Velocity special. Instead of pushing forward without intention, we are choosing to take a step back, reset, and refocus on what Velocity truly stands for and what we represent as an organization.
This summer, our primary focus will be on our Velocity 18U team as we continue to pour into athlete development, leadership, accountability, and creating the culture we want Velocity to represent moving forward.
This time will allow us to rebuild with purpose, clarity, and a renewed commitment to our mission: Character. Integrity. Intensity. Sportsmanship.
We appreciate the support from our athletes, families, and community over the years, and we are excited for what’s ahead. We hope to see everyone back on the field with us at the end of July. 💙🥎💚
