Important update regarding Harvey Boys Basketball:

I have informed the Harvey athletic department and the Harvey basketball family that I will be stepping down as head boys basketball coach, effective immediately.

It is very, very difficult to put in the time and effort necessary to lead a winning program and be the dad that my kids deserve. High school basketball will always be here, but my kids will only be this age once.

I want to thank Harvey AD Mickey Mohner for entrusting me to lead this program over the last three years, the boosters for always getting the program what we needed, the parents for their support, my coaching staff for everything they’ve done over the years, athletic trainer Tamika James for always caring for our players (she’s the best in the business), the custodial staff for keeping our facilities top notch, my family for putting up with me, and lastly, the players. It was an absolute joy to lead you. You are the reason I love coaching. I wish you nothing but the best. Keep in touch.

Neiman Booker and Dom Snyder represented Harvey in the CVC All Star Game tonight at Wickliffe High School! I was fortunate enough to get to coach the Chagrin Division team and we came away with the win. Dom was co-MVP!

The Raiders season comes to an end, falling short against Howland, 63-52. 15-8 on the year. A conference title. A thousand point scorer. A bond to last a lifetime.

Congratulations to everyone recognized for All-CVC Honors!

I am humbled to be voted as Coach of the Year for the Chagrin Division. I couldn’t have done it without my staff. Bobby Whalen, Bishop Thomas, and Barry A Jones are huge pieces of this puzzle. I also wouldn’t have been in a position for this award without the hard work and dedication of my players. This isn’t possible without you guys!

The Raiders beat Geneva, 68-60, and finish the season 15-7. We host Warren Howland on Friday, 2/27 in the sectional final. Tip off is at 7pm.

Coach Whalen and I treated the seniors to dinner at Pub Frato tonight. I haven’t laughed as hard as I did tonight in a long time. The transformation they have made since their sophomore year when I took over to now has been really fun to watch. Fun personalities coupled with talent and work ethic. Couldn’t ask for a better group of guys.

I love these boys.
