The Oaks Women’s Club Awards $80,000 in Scholarships to 16 Sarasota County Seniors
Osprey, FL (April 8, 2026) — The Oaks Women’s Club is proud to announce the awarding of $80,000 in scholarships to 16 outstanding young women from Sarasota County high schools. Each recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship to support her first year of college.
The scholars were recognized at a celebratory luncheon held at The Oaks Club, where members gathered to honor their achievements and bright futures ahead.
The Oaks Women’s Club remains deeply committed to supporting education and empowering young women to pursue their academic and professional aspirations. “It is wonderful to be able to help these young women achieve their college dreams, expand their horizons, and perhaps set them on a new trajectory for life,” said Susan Hillel, Scholarship Committee Chair.
2026 Scholarship Recipients:
Booker High School: Gianna Glover, Alix Leinweber
North Port High School: Zoey Anderson, Jaylin Pryer
Pine View School: Kate Domian, Marin McLeod
Riverview High School: Kylie Anderson, Madalyn Rohrbach, Samantha Ruff, Keya Savita, Spencer Schurawel
Venice High School: Chelsea Cisneros-Gonzalez, Melanie Kersten, Mia Kieffer, Samara Nascimento, Eva Walker-Brown
Scholarship Co-Chair Trish Melton added, “We are truly delighted to support these young women on their college journeys and hope they always remember how strongly we believe in them.”
Since establishing its Scholarship Committee in 2001, The Oaks Women’s Club has awarded approximately $1.4 million in scholarships to nearly 230 young women across Sarasota County. In addition to first-year awards, recipients may qualify for second- and third-year renewal scholarships based on continued academic achievement.
