STATE TOURNAMENT RECAP – PARKER JORDAN | 215 lbs

Parker stepped onto the state stage ready to battle this week.

• First round – Bye
• Round of 16 – Won 4-0
• Quarterfinal – Lost 4-2
• Consolation Round 4 – Lost by fall

After opening with a solid 4-0 decision, Parker found himself in a tight quarterfinal match that came down to the wire. From there, he continued to fight on the backside.

The state tournament tests everything — preparation, composure, and heart. Parker showed all three.

Proud of the way he represented Oskaloosa Wrestling and competing on Iowa’s biggest stage. The experience gained here fuels what’s next.

STATE TOURNAMENT RECAP – MATTHEW PHILLIPS | 165 lbs

Matthew stepped onto the state stage ready to compete and represented Oskaloosa with toughness all weekend.

• First round – Won 14-5
• Round of 16 – Lost 4-0
• Consolation Round 2 – Won 14-6
• Consolation Round 3 – Won 7-0
• Consolation Round 4 – Lost by fall

After a loss in round 2, Matthew battled back the only way you can at state — one match at a time. Two strong wins in the backside bracket kept his tournament alive and showed the grit he’s built all season.

Proud of the way he fought, the way he responded, and the way he represented.

The work continues.

STATE TOURNAMENT RECAP – COLTON SHAFFER | 157 lbs

What a run in Des Moines for Colton at the 2026 Iowa High School Boys State Wrestling Tournament.

• First round – Bye
• Round of 16 – Won 7-3
• Quarterfinal – Won 1-0
• Semifinal – Lost 10-2
• Consolation Semifinal – Won by fall (2:38)
• 3rd Place Match – Won 7-1

After a tough semifinal setback, Colton responded the way competitors do — with grit, composure, and relentless pressure. A dominant pin in the consolation semis and a strong 7-1 win in the third-place match sealed an incredible finish.

Third in the state in class 3A at 157 pounds.

Proud of the fight, the growth, and the way he represented our program on the biggest stage.

Day 3 at the 2026 Iowa High School Boys State Wrestling Tournament is in the books.

Colton Shaffer (157 lbs) battled in the semifinal round and came up short, dropping a hard-fought match 10–2.

Day 2 at the 2026 Iowa Boys State Wrestling Tournament is in the books for Oskaloosa.

Our state qualifiers stepped back on the mat and battled.

Colton Shaffer (157 lbs)
Won in the Quarterfinals 1-0 and is set for the Semifinals. Locked in and still chasing more.

Matthew Phillips (165 lbs)
Picked up a strong 7-0 win in Consolation Round 3. His run came to an end in Cons Round 4, but he left everything on the mat.

Parker Jordan (215 lbs)
Fought hard in the Quarterfinals and continued to battle through the backside. His tournament ended in Cons Round 4 — competing with grit until the final whistle.

State wrestling demands toughness, discipline, and heart. These three showed all of it.

One still in the hunt.
All three made Oskaloosa proud.

Huge congratulations to Colton Shaffer, Matthew Phillips and Parker Jordan on punching their ticket to STATE!

These three battled through districts and proved they belong on the biggest stage. We’re proud of the grit, discipline and composure they showed when it mattered most.

Now it’s time to represent.
