Rebels 16U Johnson finished their season in Sioux Falls South Dakota competing in the USA Nationals North. The girls took third place out of 18 teams going 5-4 with three of the loses coming from the two teams in the championship game.
The team went 33-14-3 on the season, completing in several showcase tournaments, State 16B tournament, and USA Nationals North. This past winter they also hosted a tournament at the Rex Plex dome.
It was a bittersweet experience in Sioux Falls as everyone knew it was not only going to be the last tournament of the season but the last tournament for this group of girls. Most of the girls who are seniors are choosing to move on to the next chapter of their lives and start preparing for college. The girls knowing this made the most of the weekend dressing up for pictures at the falls, team lunch, shopping, hot tub, and of course a lot of softball. When the last pitch was thrown the tears started from players, parents and coaches. This truly is a special team and this group of young ladies are going to go on to do some amazing things.
Jim Johnson and Wayne Johnson thank you for coaching this team for the last five years. These girls have learned so much from the two of you. The fact that you guys will travel around the state watching and supporting them in their High School games is very rare and we are very grateful to have you two as our coaches.
