A little recap of this past weekend. We canceled our trip to Gulfport due to personal reasons. But we made it to South Georgia for there points race. Saturday I was able to go rounds and made it down to the finals where it was called due to rain. Sunday I made it to 3rd where I push the tree a little too hard and kicked -.016 red. Is always a fun weekend when we can hit up the track for some racing. But in all honesty the heat was no joke

Well, it’s time to head home from ECF.

What can I say? It definitely wasn’t the week I had hoped for. We unloaded with car issues right off the trailer, then Mother Nature decided to rain on us almost all week. We only got two races in, and I didn’t turn on a win light until the main event, where I made it past first round before coming up short in second. Those who know me know I don’t make excuses or try to justify a loss—I simply missed the tree, and that’s racing.

Sometimes this sport humbles you. You go home, regroup, figure out what went wrong, and get back to work. That’s exactly what we’ll do. We’ll turn our program around, make the improvements we need, and be ready for the next one.

On the bright side, my sister, J-Nice, held it down for Team Santiago by going rounds all week. Not too bad for her very first ECF! I’m proud of her and everything she accomplished.

ECF didn’t go the way I wanted, but every race is another lesson. Thank you to everyone who cheered us on from home, and thank you to our sponsors, AAA Forklifts Parts & Service and Slick Kids, for believing in us every step of the way. See y’all at the next race. 🏁💪

Excited this year we will be racing back to back as we depart for ECF next week and then we head over to Gulfport. For the back to school spectacular.
