OMS Brings Mix of Returning and New Entries to the Grid
2026 McLaren Trophy America Championship
ORLANDO, Fla. (December 15, 2025) — Following last week’s announcement of two father-and-son Hooper Street entries for 2026, OMS is pleased to announce another father-and-son duo joining the McLaren Trophy America grid for the upcoming season.
Stephen Sorbaro will return in his #49 teal and yellow McLaren Artura Trophy EVO after capturing the 2025 AM category Papaya Cup Championship and finishing third in the AM Championship. He will be joined by his son, Scott Sorbaro, who will compete in the #3 yellow and teal Artura Trophy EVO.
“I’m excited to come back to the Trophy America series for another season,” said Stephen Sorbaro. “I love driving this car—McLaren has built a fantastic car and a fun series. OMS does a great job preparing the car for us each time out, but for me, the best part is sharing the grid with Scott.”
Scott Sorbaro, who made his series and OMS debut at Road America during the 2025 season, shared his excitement for the year ahead: “I’m really excited to be joining OMS for the 2026 McLaren Trophy season. I’m looking forward to working with such a professional team and enjoying some fun, fast races together. I can’t wait to see what the season has in store.”
Team Principal Eric Burch welcomed the additions: “Stephen did a tremendous job last season capturing the Papaya Cup Championship, and I have no doubt he’ll hit the ground running in 2026. Scott showed immediate pace at Road America, and we expect to continue developing his growth behind the wheel. I’m very happy to have four cars on the grid this season. I’m sure we’ll see some epic battles between teammates—along with some father-son bragging rights.”
The Sorbaros will again be coached by racing veteran Pierre Kleinubing. All OMS entries will proudly carry McLaren Orlando branding as the team’s dealer partner.
The 2026 McLaren Trophy America season kicks off at Sonoma Raceway, March 27–29.
