Kids class practicing O Soto Gari (大外刈) with an Uke wearing the full gi. The focus was on the use of grips and emphasizing “Turning the Wheel” to get Kuzushi (unbalancing).

We teach that Every Block in Kajukenbo is a Strike. As was taught early on. Get on the offensive from the get go.

When looking at forms though a block can also be a grab, a path to Kuzushi to set up a takedown, a break, a lock, a disarm, or a redirect. Or more.
Explore options. If something “doesn’t work” see if you are being too rigid with your translation.
