One of our goals at Hornet Heroes is to connect families with inclusive programs and community opportunities that promote confidence, independence, and meaningful experiences.

🎭 STEP VA – Self-Advocacy & Social Skills Through the Arts (SASS) (Spotsylvania/Fredericksburg Area)

Registration is now open for this fall’s SASS program for participants ages 13+ and a parent/caregiver.

Participants will build self-advocacy, social communication skills, confidence, and independence through 4 studio classes and 4 community field trips, giving them the opportunity to learn and practice skills in real-world settings. Caregivers also learn strategies to help support their participant’s growth.

💙 The smiles. The laughter. The friendships. The confidence. 💙

If you followed along with Hornet Heroes Camp this summer, you saw firsthand what makes this program so special. Every activity is designed to help our students build skills, stay active, and experience the joy of being part of a team.

As we get ready for the new school year, I’d love to keep that same excitement and opportunity going in our Adapted Physical Education classes.

I’ve created an Amazon Wishlist with equipment and activities that will be used throughout the school year by our amazing students. Every item will help us continue creating meaningful, engaging experiences for children of all abilities.

🏆 That’s a wrap on Hornet Heroes Adapted Sports Camp 2026! 🧡💙

We closed out the week with All-Star Thursday, celebrating every camper for the incredible effort, growth, teamwork, and joy they brought each and every day.

This week was about so much more than sports — it was about confidence, friendships, inclusion, perseverance, and creating a space where every athlete could shine.

To our campers, families, staff, and student helpers… thank you for making this week so special. ❤️

Every camper was an All-Star this week. ⭐

🦸‍♂️ DAY 3 = SUPERHERO DAY at Hornet Heroes Adapted Sports Camp! 🦸‍♀️

Today was all about being strong, brave, and determined as our campers took on superhero-themed activities focused on movement, confidence, teamwork, and FUN! 💙🧡

From drumming and sports stations to superhero challenges and lots of smiles along the way, our athletes showed us exactly what it means to be a hero.

We are so proud of every camper for giving their best and supporting one another all day long. ✨

Every hero has a story… and today our campers were the stars.

🤝💙🧡 Teamwork Tuesday was a huge success at Hornet Heroes Camp! 🧡💙🤝

Today was all about working together, encouraging one another, building connections, and discovering that we are always stronger when we support each other. ❤️

From movement activities and Drums Alive to sports stations, teamwork challenges, and so many moments of encouragement, our athletes showed what it truly means to work together and lift each other up. ⭐

One of the best parts of this week is watching friendships grow, confidence build, and seeing every athlete realize just how much they are capable of when surrounded by support and positivity.

Another incredible day in the books… and we can’t wait for Day 3! 🏀✨

🏆 Rookie Day is in the books… and what an incredible start to Hornet Heroes Camp 2026! 🧡💙

Today, our athletes kicked off the week by embracing our Day 1 theme: Try Something New.

From basketball, hockey, kickball, Drums Alive, scooter activities, snacks, teamwork, laughter, and our giant parachute finale… today was all about stepping outside comfort zones, building confidence, and discovering new skills. ❤️

We are so proud of every camper for showing courage, giving their best effort, and reminding us that growth happens when we are willing to try. ⭐

Day 1 was amazing… and we are just getting started.

🏀🧡💙 The wait is almost over… Hornet Heroes Camp starts TOMORROW! 💙🧡🏀

We are beyond excited to welcome our campers for an incredible week at Hornet Heroes Adapted Sports Camp 2026 — a camp created specifically for students with disabilities to experience movement, sports, friendship, confidence-building, and the joy of being part of a team. ❤️

Tomorrow kicks off Day 1: Rookie Day — a day focused on trying new things, building confidence, and discovering that every athlete can learn, grow, and succeed. 🏆

⭐ Over the next four days, our athletes will challenge themselves, make new friendships, build confidence, and discover just how much they are capable of as part of The Champions, The Heroes, The Rockets, The All-Stars, and The Legends.

We cannot wait to kick off an amazing week and celebrate everything these incredible athletes can do!
