2026-27 University High Titans Wrestling Season Preview
The University High Titans enter the 2026-27 season with one goal: keep building momentum.
After continuing to strengthen the foundation of the program, the Titans will be tested early and often against some of Central Florida's toughest competition. The schedule features premier dual tournaments, nationally respected invitationals, and key district matchups that should prepare University for the postseason.
The season opens with the girls competing at the Flagler Rotary Tournament (Nov. 24) before the Titans host one of the biggest weekends of the year—the UHS Clash of Titans on December 5-6. Home fans will also get opportunities to watch the team at the Battle of the U, Deltona/Pine Ridge tri-meet, Seabreeze, and Senior Night against Lyman.
December will be loaded with measuring-stick events including:
UHS Clash of Titans
5 Star at New Smyrna Beach
Deltona Duals
Battle of the U
Bill Scott Tournament at Lyman
January may be the toughest stretch of the season. The Titans will battle through:
Deland Duals
UHS Girls Clash
Battle of the Chunk
District Duals
Regional Duals
State Duals
Every event builds toward February's championship season.
Wrestlers to Watch
University returns a group that has shown the ability to compete at a high level, led by returning state qualifier Kaiden Olavarria and Aiden Kavades along with experienced upperclassmen Bryan Adame, David Jimenez, Amrie Harrel, Genesis Cruz, and Hyla Daugenbaugh. They also welcome back some key wrestlers that they lost to injuries last year in Jayloni Winder and Aiden Hamilton. Their leadership will be critical as younger wrestlers gain varsity experience and the lineup continues to develop.
Keys to the Season
Win the close dual meets.
Stay healthy through a demanding January.
Continue developing depth across every weight class.
Peak when Districts begin.
With a challenging schedule and growing expectations, the Titans may have a few easy nights but not many. Those tests are exactly what should prepare them for the postseason.
The mission is simple: compete with relentless effort, improve every week, and make noise when the championships arrive.
