Season Opener Recap — Thunder City Speedway
Last night was so much more than a race.
The season opener at Thunder City was a tribute to Cheyenne — an absolutely beautiful person who brought so much joy to all of us.
Seeing the racers, family, and friends show up to honor her made it a true roller coaster of emotions.
With 4 cars hauled in, the Stieh Racing crew was ready to kick off the season.
Heats:
🔹 Curtis – BMod: 1st to 3rd
🔹 Curtis – AMod: 8th to 5th
🔹 Kat – Street Stock: 1st to 2nd (just a little bobble is all it takes with these guys — they're so quick!) One of the biggest highlights of the day was being out there for Colton’s very first heat race at Thunder City together!
🔹 Colton – Street Stock: 10th to 10th, getting his bearings and learning the ins and outs of the track.
B-Main:
🔹 Colton ran his first ever B-main in the Street Stock and went 9th to 8th. So proud of him!
Features: The features were a whole other realm —What we thought we wanted, turned out we didn't need.
🔹 Curtis – BMod: 11th to 8th
🔹 Curtis – AMod: 9th to 6th
🔹 Kat – Street Stock: 1st to 8th. She found her groove and was making moves, but a late red flag with a fellow racer rolling right in front of her gave her a little shake up. Gotta dust off the old muscle memory bank — overall just happy the car came home in one piece!
Beyond everything else, we're so happy to be back at the track, to see our track family and friends, and most of all to come together and remember a beautiful person who meant so much to all of us.
Forever in our hearts, Cheyenne.—I know you’ll be riding with us every single time we strap into those seats.
