Oneida Middle School Defeated By Wartburg Middle School

Oneida Middle School fell to Wartburg Middle School 7-3 on Tuesday.
A ground out by Kayman F put Wartburg Middle School on the board in the top of the first.
Oneida Middle School took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after CJ Stephens grounded out, Zach Taylor singled to center field, and Kyson Crowley walked, each scoring one run.
Wartburg Middle School tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a ground out by Landry B, and a dropped third strike.
In the top of the fourth, Wartburg Middle School broke up the tie when Landry singled to CF, an error extended the lead to 7-3.
Jaxon W earned the win for Wartburg Middle School. The hurler gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Easton Smart took the loss for Oneida Middle School. The starter went four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking one. Gunner L opened the game for Wartburg Middle School. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and three runs (two earned) over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking four.
Zach Taylor, Kyson Crowley, Gabe Barnes, Easton Smart, and CJ Stephens each collected one hit for Oneida Middle School. Zach and Kyson each drove in one run for Oneida Middle School. Gabe paced Oneida Middle School with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Easton stole two bases.
Landry provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Wartburg Middle School with four runs batted in. The center fielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Landry and Wyatt H each collected two hits for Wartburg Middle School. Jaxon stole two bases.
Oneida Middle School welcome Oakdale on Thursday for their next game, first pitch set for 5:30!
