HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!! All first session campers for our summer paddle program will get a visit from some SUPER CUTE pet-able piggies!! Gilbert the party pig and his friends Buddy and Dot will be coming for some camper snuggles during our first session (June 16-20). True to their pig nature, they’re coming at 🍕LUNCHTIME🥕 so both our morning and afternoon session campers can enjoy the fun after an exciting week paddling in our beautiful estuaries.

These perfect little pig friends are available for parties and events and their caregivers are amazing. Rent their companionship privately or book them for your BHO Paddling Pigs Party!

🌞CAMP/PADDLING PROGRAM🌞

😮IT’S ONLY $300 (and we prorate for partial attendance in advance!!)

Camp starts 6/16 and sessions run M-F

Morning sessions: 9:00am-12:30pm
Afternoon sessions: 1:30pm-5:00pm

Campers will learn basic/intermediate skills and master SUP, kayaking, and tandem paddling techniques with partners. They will explore our vast estuary system, discover the natural wonders of the pristine waterways, and explore our private islands and beaches.

Our instructors are trained lifeguards and experienced paddlers that will teach campers all they need to know on our calm, protected waters FREE from busy boat traffic.

POSITION: Marina / paddle sport outfitter - Assistant Manager/ Customer Service representative.

We are Black Hall Outfitters, located on the eastern CT shoreline, in beautiful Old Lyme, on the Great Island National Wildlife Preserve. We are looking for a local water sport enthusiast to join our team.

Our full service, marina, paddle sport and retail facility needs a key person to help support the team, engage with customers, and help grow our exciting water sport business. Our Old Lyme location has been operating as CT’s premiere paddle sport destination for over 20 years, offering kayaks from great brands like Old Town, Hobie, and NuCanoe and several SUP brands. We operate a full service retail shop for Paddle Sports, accessories and fishing tackle /supplies. Our on water location allows for kayak and SUP demos, rentals, and group outings for up to 100 people. If you are eager, energized, willing to pitch in and like being surrounded by happy customers who love to be on the water- we are looking for you!

A few requirements we are looking for with our new team member

• some experience and knowledge for boating, paddle sports and sharing your passion and knowledge with our customers

• You must have a good grasp of the products and equipment we offer in order to make customers feel well educated on their purchasing decisions. Our team will educate you on all the brands and services we provide, so that you can translate that knowledge to our customers and help guide them to informed purchases.

• Assistance in helping to execute new marketing initiatives in- order to extend our brand and our offering out to new customers and followers.

• Some social media skills and interest to help grow our exposure and presence on line within key social media platforms

• Computer-skills managing on-line bookings and POS software

• Kayaking and Paddling experience is good but not essential (willingness to learn is)

• Sales and helpful service orientated attitude

• Responsibility for carrying out purchase transactions and sales equipment use on retail POS systems in place

• People skills and willingness to jump in and help

• Love for being around the water and our customers desire to have FUN!

We have the need for a full time, assistant manager /customer service representative to help around the shop and the water. We offer a fun, energized working environment where all of our customers come to visit in a great mood (who doesn't love to be around the water!)- We need an energetic, enthusiastic person who is proactive and positive about helping people and helping to grow our rapidly expanding operation. IF you love to paddle, fish, SUP, help people enjoy the Best day of their summer, and do it all at the most beautiful shoreline in Connecticut- we'd love to meet you!!
