Will OU be looking for additions in the transfer portal? Yes. Here's what Patty Gasso told Chris Plank just a few days ago:

"We're definitely going take a look-see in the portal. We'll see what we can find. We don't need a lot, we don't need much at all. Yes, we will be looking, we're paying attention. Some players which is, it's kind of interesting is they're already announcing without the portal being open. They're announcing their intentions and so you kind of get a head start on some. We are gonna probably need a backup catcher..potentially, and, looking for a potential pitcher that fits our needs. And maybe a couple of speedy runners. Just somebody to come off the bench and know this is my job. I'm just gonna run. And we have enough spots to allow us to grab those guys. So, yeah, we'll be looking."

Five years ago today: OU fans gave Odicci Alexander a standing ovation.

The JMU star was incredible during the 2021 WCWS and captivated softball fans everywhere.

OU would win with a berth in the championship series on the line, but OU fans showed their respect for one of the greats.

Happy Birthday to OU legend Tiare Jennings!

A four-time First Team All-American and four-time National Champion, Tiare is one of the best and most accomplished players to ever come through OU.

She now plays for the Texas Volts in the AUSL, as well as USA Softball.

Congrats to OU Softball signee EK Smith!

She’s been named Texas Player of the Year by MaxPreps.

Smith will arrive at OU later this year and be on campus in the fall. She’s a pitcher and an infielder and is expected to do both for the Sooners.

In the circle, Smith posted a 1.36 ERA over 67 innings. She struck out 121 hitters, walked only 15 and opponents hit just .156 against her.

At the plate, she hit .632 with 57 RBI’s and 21 home runs.

BIG CONGRATS to DJ Gasso. He’s been hired as the head coach at Tulsa.

He’s been at Arkansas as an assistant for the last three seasons.

DJ is a fantastic coach and will do an excellent job at TU.

Shoutout to OU commit Riley Hilliard for a fantastic 2026 season at La Mirada High School (California).

Her season stats:568 Batting Average640 On Base Percentage
10 Home Runs
1.111 Slugging Percentage
14 Doubles

A 2027 commit, Hilliard is ranked as the No. 10 player nationally by Softball America and the No. 4 player in California, as well as the No. 2 catcher.

Hilliard and La Mirada had a special season, making it all the way to the CIF Southern Section Division 1 Softball Championship Game.

Her head coach said about her: "Riley's special. When you have a kid like that on your team, it's fun because you never know what's gonna happen at the plate. She's not a real kid." - via West Coast Preps Los Angeles
