The order of operations in the way you leave the mound matters. 

Cam has always had “dancey feet”...the like to move around all over the place, and as a result she was limiting herself a bit in how much power she was creating through her wind up.

We adjusted some things to her start, so she could really focus on getting her weight through the toe of her foot, and as a result…🔥🔥🔥

I cannot WAIT to see this girl in action this year at Henderson State University!

Rose is ten years old and already GRINDING through structured bullpens and workoutsl like it’s nothing! 💪🔥

We are so proud of this kid and are so grateful for parents like Rose’s mom who shows up, trusts what we’re building here, and understands that real improvement takes more than one lesson  - it’s a process.

Thank you so much to you both for training with us this summer!

And in the end, THIS is what summer training is about. Girls like Rose putting in the reps, parents like her mom seeing the payoff, and seeing all the hard work pay off.

Keep going Rose. We see you! 🥎💕

“Penguin style” is so simple, yet SO effective.

Get your timing down off the mound before we add any sort of wind up.
Then, we future out what your body likes to do from there to keep it natural and flow.

I do like to encourage athletes to keep any sort of backswing under control, so the focus is on activating the lower half, and not all up in the arm.

Every athlete is different, and we work to find what works for them.  🐧

You guys... I see this ALL. THE. TIME.

A player walks up to the radar gun expecting a number that matches how hard she’s been dreaming about it, not how hard she’s actually been working for it. 

The numbers don’t lie, and sometimes - that can hurt.

But if you’re in high school, and you haven’t been intentional with focused work around improving velocity, why would it change? 

Once you’re at that high school level, your frame is pretty much locked in. You’re not getting a growth spurt to bail you out anymore. Every mile an hour after this point gets EARNED, not given.

So if you’re stuck wondering why the numbers aren’t moving, ask yourself what you actually did to move them. If the answer is “not much 🤷🏻‍♀️” that’s your starting point, not your ending point.

Okay, here’s something I think about a lot, not just with pitching… with everything.

We live in a world where so many of us want the result without the process.

We want the full ride scholarship without putting in the extra reps.

We want the velocity without the hard training.

We want the title and the recognition without the sacrifice.

And guys I get it, I really do. That’s just human nature. We all want the easy shortcut.

But here’s some tough love for ya.

Nothing that ACTUALLY matters gets handed to you.

❌Not in softball
❌Not in school
❌Not in life

You want to play in college? You have to put in the work when nobody’s watching.

You want to be an elite pitcher? Same thing.

You want to PR your velo, tighten up your spin, finally get that pitch to do what it’s supposed to do? It’s not going to happen just because you wanted it bad enough.

But it WILL happen for the girl who showed up and trained for it, over and over, even on the days it was frustrating.

I tell my girls this all the time. You can’t be mad about a result you didn’t prepare for.

So whatever you’re chasing right now, on the field or off, ask yourself honestly. Am I actually doing the work? Or am I just hoping it works out?

Raise your hand if you’re a naturally STIFF pitcher! 🙋🏼‍♀️

When our arms are locked and straight - the arm whip is minimal, spin decreases, movement goes away.

If we can lead through our circles with our ELBOW - we know our arms are loose, we are NOT muscling that ball, and we can build that FINESSE.

All pitchers will reach a certain level where just throwing strikes is not enough, we need to set pur bodies up to be able to produce SPIN and MOVEMENT.

Try this one at home gang, it’s a keeper.

But how do you know which one is right for you?

There are some non-negotiables that just HAVE to be there -

🥎 Lower half is engaged
🥎Hips are loaded in the power position
🥎Repeatable

Then we will figure out your body’s tendencies, what feels better for you as a pticher and work to recreate it everytime.

There are SO many ways to get there - just gotta find what’s right for you.
