* Good Positioning vs. Good Posture *
Just because a defender is connected to you, doesn’t mean they’re in a good position. A “veer” finish enables you to initiate contact with a defender that is open in their stance recovering downhill. With that said, swinging the ball while making contact actually gives them an advantage to strip the ball as it’s exposed.
Make contact.
Ball stays hip to chin.
Low leverage.
Controlled energy.

* RESILIENCE on RECORD *
Have to give my guy a shoutout after not only breaking the record for most points scored by a Czech player in the NBA (28), but being a testimony to the power of resilience. Very few understand what goes into the “grind” … even less stand the test of time and be rewarded for remaining persistent. This basketball world comes in waves, but your home has been built on stone.
It’s been such a privilege witnessing the development. Though highs and lows. There was no chasing butterflies, but only a garden truly tended to. And in time, the beauty has begun to show.

Because of all the “bag work” and “flow” movement pattern stuff we work on for modern basketball, the art of a great, physical, jab step player can quickly be forgotten. Sometimes, the greatest advantage you have, is the space you’ve already demanded.
Be willing to fight in the “battleground” - and be willing to be greedy with your space via physicality in the jab.

Shooters gon’ shoot - but how was can you attack and recreate against a defender that has comprised their position by closing out aggressively. Shoutout to Avery, looking forward to seeing her growth be shown at the highest level this year at Utah.
Shooters that can also attack and create downhill put an immense amount of inside out pressure on defenses.
