Unfortunately, due to the weather forecast and the possibility of storms this evening, tonight’s adult hockey games will be postponed.

Rather than have players make the trip to the rink only to potentially turn around and head home if storms move in, we feel it’s better to make the call early.

All games from this week that need to be made up will possibly be worked into the end of the session. We may need to make some adjustments or reconfigure the remaining schedule, and we’ll share those details once everything is finalized.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and flexibility!

ADULT HOCKEY IS BACK TOMORROW NIGHT!

A huge thank you to the City of Oil City workers who busted their butts and completed the installation of the new safety netting today!

The new netting is located at BOTH ENDS OF THE RINK, extending above the boards and fencing behind each goal. It looks great and is a terrific safety improvement to the rink!

We’re extremely thankful to the City workers for getting the job finished and getting us ready to play again.

PROGRESS AT THE RINK!

The City of Oil City workers began installing our new upper safety netting around the rink today!

It’s great to see another improvement happening at the facility. Little by little, things are happening and progress is being made!

A big thank-you to the City of Oil City workers for their time and effort getting this new netting installed. We truly appreciate their help!

SCHEDULE UPDATE:
Due to the ongoing installation and maintenance work, tonight’s adult league games will need to be rescheduled. We will announce the new game dates and times once they are confirmed.

Please also be aware that additional schedule adjustments may be necessary throughout this week as the City continues working on the netting. We will keep everyone updated as soon as we receive information regarding when the rink is available for play.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while these improvements are being completed. We’re excited to see the progress! 🏒🥅

Youth Hockey Session 5 – Final Session of the Year!

Parents and families, don’t forget to register this week for Session 5, our final youth hockey session of the year!

Session 5 starts Saturday, September 5th!

We’re also planning a couple of bonus Thursday nights for youth open pickup hockey. These nights will give the kids some extra rink time to skate, play around, work on their skills, and get some additional stick-and-puck practice in a fun, relaxed setting.

We’re excited to finish out the year with some extra opportunities for the kids to get on the rink and continue building their skills.

Youth Hockey Continues Tomorrow!

Just a reminder that Youth Hockey Session 4 continues tomorrow! We’re looking forward to a fun rest of the session with plenty of opportunities for kids to keep skating, learning, and enjoying hockey.

Saturday Youth Hockey Times:

Ages 4–6: 9:00–10:00 AM
Ages 7–12: 10:15–11:15 AM
Ages 13–16: 11:30 AM–12:30 PM

Session 5 begins in September, and registration is now OPEN! We’re planning some additional fun activities along with more skating opportunities for our youth, all included at the same session price. We’re hoping to continue building on this model as we head toward next year.

Even if your child isn’t currently registered for Session 4 but wants to try hockey, bring them up tomorrow! We’d be happy to get them on skates, let them give it a try, and help get them ready for Session 5.

New skaters are always welcome, and gear is available!

Sunday Rec Hockey Update

We are planning to be open tonight from 6:00–8:00 PM, and staff will be at the rink.

There is a chance of rain, so the surface may be wet or slippery. Please use your own discretion and best judgment when deciding whether to play.

If the weather turns really bad with heavy rain, storms, or lightning, we will most likely just close the rink. Please consider this post your notice that we may close if conditions become unsafe, rather than waiting for another announcement.

Otherwise, we’ll be there and hopefully get some hockey in!
