Twas the night before Radiothon, thirty-seven years strong,
The phone bank lay silent, awaiting dawn's song.
The room filled with love, each streamer in place,
While pledge sheets stood ready to capture each grace.
At the Children's Center, small hearts softly beat,
Families keep vigil, hope woven beneath.
In beds lined with starlight and compassionate care,
Young dreamers rest gently, tomorrow's repair.
The studio gleams with its banners unfurled,
Volunteers poised to embrace the whole world.
The countdown ticks closer, anticipation takes flight—
Soon voices will gather to turn dark into light.
When morning breaks open and telephone lines
Fill with the generous, the faithful, the kind,
We'll raise up the healing these children deserve,
Each dollar a lifeline, each pledge hope preserved.
