What if the tough times in our lives weren’t there to knock us down and keep us small? What if these TKOs were actually there to help us realize our potential and to help us grow?
Recently, when I was talking about some of the things I’d experienced in my life (that happened to come one thing right after the other), the person said, “Oh, wow, you had a black cloud following you for awhile, didn’t you?”
Why, yes, I sure did. And, it wasn’t pleasant at all. (Those times never are, are they?)
Well, hell, no!
They do, however, remind me of the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi where cracks in broken pottery are mended with gold, silver and platinum lacquer to create something even more beautiful and exquisite!
Looking back, I can see how—like kintsugi pottery, my unique imperfections have shaped me into the awesome person I now know that I am.
And, while that storm cloud does reappear from time to time, it always morphs into a beautiful sky filled with soft pinks, deep reds to brilliant oranges and bright yellows!
And, for that, I am grateful! ❤️
