Ocala Rangers Stymied By Patriots

Ocala Rangers had trouble keeping up with Patriots in a 10-4 loss on Sunday at Ocala Rotary Sportsplex.

An error put Ocala Rangers on the board in the top of the first.

A walk by Luis Rosairo extended the Ocala Rangers lead to 2-0 in the top of the second inning.

Patriots captured the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the third after Ocala Rangers committed an error, Patriots scored on a passed ball, Mike Sprague grounded out, and Ocala Rangers committed an error, each scoring one run.

Javior Costa stepped on the bump first for Ocala Rangers. The hurler surrendered 10 hits and 10 runs (five earned) over eight innings, striking out three and walking three. Tim Steiner started the game for Patriots. The starting pitcher gave up zero hits and two runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking five.

Derek Miller, Kendrick Gonzalez, Matt Daggy, Peter Gerena, and Jimmy Santiago each collected one hit for Ocala Rangers. Miller, Gonzalez, and Rosairo each drove in one run for Ocala Rangers. Rosairo paced Ocala Rangers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Devin Dorin stole two bases. Ocala Rangers turned one double play in the game.

Patriots amassed 10 hits in the game. Aaron Galley, Kevin Clouse, and Tanner Gronland each collected two hits for Patriots. Steiner and Gronland were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Patriots.

McGlovin Defeat Ocala Lightning

McGlovin topped Ocala Lightning 7-2 on Sunday at Ocala Rotary Sportsplex.

McGlovin got on the board in the top of the first inning after Nick Kemp doubled , and Houston Wright singled, each scoring one run.

A double by Devin Oliver extended the McGlovin lead to 4-0 in the top of the second inning.

Jared Bronstetter earned the win for McGlovin. The righty gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking five. Ronald Walker took the loss for Ocala Lightning. The starting pitcher went four innings, giving up four runs on eight hits, striking out four and walking two. Jimmy Lore collected the save. Taylor Tracy threw three innings of shutout ball for McGlovin in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up four hits, striking out one and walking none.

McGlovin collected 14 hits in the game. Wright, Kemp, and Tracy each collected two hits for McGlovin. Kemp led McGlovin with three runs batted in. The second baseman went 2-for-2 on the day. McGlovin turned one double play in the game. McGlovin were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Tommy Soltysiak had the most chances in the field with 10.

Chad David went 3-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Austin Fulk and Brendan Davis each collected multiple hits for Ocala Lightning. Ocala Lightning turned three double plays in the game. Ocala Lightning were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Fulk made the most plays with eight.

Seventh-Inning Spurt Lead Pirates Past Ocala Brewers

Pirates scored five runs in the seventh inning, which helped them defeat Ocala Brewers 9-0 on Sunday at Ocala Rotary Sportsplex. Antonio Andueza drew a walk, scoring one run, Miguel Bogado doubled, scoring two runs, Elienyer Adrian drew a walk, scoring one run, and Kleinner Finol singled, scoring one run.

Pirates scored one run in the top of the fourth on an inside the park home run by Marcos Aular.

Adrian, Raul Toro, and Emilio Rosario each threw shutout innings for Pirates in relief.

Diosward Gonzalez and Finol each collected two hits for Pirates. Bogado and Finol each drove in two runs for Pirates. Pirates had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game.

Aaron Story, Carl Johnson, Niles Malvasia, and Stephen Bordenkircher each collected one hit for Ocala Brewers.

Ocala Rangers Fall After Strong Showing By Ocala Brewers

Ocala Rangers had trouble keeping up with Ocala Brewers in a 17-1 loss on Sunday at Ocala Rotary Sportsplex.

Ocala Brewers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two home runs. Ocala Brewers first got on the board when Niles Malvasia homered to center field, scoring two runs.

Ocala Brewers scored five runs on two hits in the top of the second inning. Brandon Watts singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Justin Crawl grounded out, scoring one run, and Brandon Yeater singled, scoring one run.

Ocala Brewers added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Raffie Gomez singled down the right field line, Malvasia singled to the left side of the infield, and Aaron Story grounded out, each scoring one run.

Javior Costa started on the mound for Ocala Rangers. The starter allowed nine hits and nine runs (eight earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking two. Crawl opened the game for Ocala Brewers. The pitcher allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Kendrick Gonzalez, Matt Daggy, Peter Gerena, and Yonsuel Gerena each collected one hit for Ocala Rangers. Daggy went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Ocala Rangers turned one double play in the game.

Ocala Brewers amassed 13 hits in the game. Malvasia and Yeater each collected three hits for Ocala Brewers. Malvasia led Ocala Brewers with six runs batted in. The shortstop went 3-for-5 on the day. Gomez and Watts each collected multiple hits for Ocala Brewers. Ocala Brewers had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Gomez and Stephen Bordenkircher led the team with two free passes each. Ocala Brewers turned one double play in the game.

Ocala Lightning Fall After Strong Showing By Pirates

Ocala Lightning couldn't keep up with Pirates and fell 16-1 on Sunday at Ocala Rotary Sportsplex.

Pirates jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Juan Almodovar singled, scoring two runs, Kleinner Finol singled, scoring two runs, Antonio Andueza doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.

Pirates added two runs in the second after Ocala Lightning committed an error.

Pirates scored one run in the bottom of the third on an inside the park home run by Guille Reyes.

Diosward Gonzalez earned the win for Pirates. The hurler surrendered three hits and one run over six innings, striking out 13 and walking one. Steven Kyer took the loss for Ocala Lightning. The starting pitcher went four innings, surrendering 10 runs (four earned) on 10 hits, striking out two and walking four.

Carlos Carrillo went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Ocala Lightning in hits. Ocala Lightning turned one double play in the game.

Pirates accumulated 13 hits in the game. Finol, Henry Rangel, Almodovar, Andueza, and Brito each collected two hits for Pirates. Finol led Pirates with three runs batted in. Finol went 2-for-3 on the day. Gonzalez threw an immaculate inning in the third, striking out the side on nine pitches. Pirates worked the count all day, amassing seven walks.

Patriots Fall After Strong Showing By McGlovin

Patriots couldn't keep up with McGlovin and fell 13-2 on Sunday at Ocala Rotary Sportsplex.

Patriots got on the board in the first inning after Aaron Galley singled, scoring one run.

A grand slam to center field by Tommy Soltysiak gave McGlovin the lead, 4-1, in the top of the second.

Jake Wiirre earned the win for McGlovin. The pitcher allowed two hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out 10 and walking nine. Tanner Gronland took the loss for Patriots. The starting pitcher went five innings, allowing seven runs on six hits, striking out two and walking five.

Galley and Roly Martinez each drove in one run for Patriots. Martinez led Patriots with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 13 walks for the game. Patriots didn't commit a single error in the field. Yohan Barrios had the most chances in the field with nine.

McGlovin collected 12 hits in the game. Soltysiak led McGlovin with five runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Wiirre, Floyd Flemming, and Soltysiak each collected two hits for McGlovin. Nick Kemp paced McGlovin with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Zach Lee and Flemming each stole multiple bases for McGlovin. McGlovin stole six bases in the game. McGlovin turned one double play in the game.

Pirates Take Down Ocala Rangers A Little At A Time

Pirates built their lead a few runs at a time in a 7-1 victory over Ocala Rangers on Sunday at Ocala Rotary Sportsplex.

An error put Pirates on the board in the top of the first.

Pirates added one run in the second after Elienyer Adrian walked.

A fielder's choice by Antonio Andueza extended the Pirates lead to 4-0 in the top of the third inning.

Guille Reyes hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fourth for the Pirates.

Eduar Brito homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the eighth for the Pirates.

Javior Costa started on the hill for Ocala Rangers. The starter allowed nine hits and seven runs (four earned) over nine innings, striking out two and walking three. Adrian led things off on the bump for Pirates. The starter allowed three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Peter Gerena, Devin Dorin, and Sonny Martinez each collected one hit for Ocala Rangers.

Brito went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Juan Almodovar went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Pirates in hits.
