Day 1 of the Batman Vs. Joker NIT.
These Ocala boys brought THE HEAT today.
Game 1- The Heat defeated the JSM Elite 16-4.
Ocala Heat jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Landon doubled, scoring one run, Taylor singled, scoring one run, Mason singled, scoring one run, Camden doubled, scoring two runs, Emmett singled, scoring one run, and Copeland doubled, scoring one run.
Weldon hit a solo inside the park home run in the top of the second for the Ocala Heat.
Ocala Heat added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Camden singled to center field, Beckett doubled to center field, and Samuel grounded out, each scoring one run.
Ocala Heat scored five runs on six hits in the top of the fourth inning. Landon doubled, scoring two runs, Wyatt singled, scoring one run, Mason doubled, scoring one run, and Mason doubled, scoring one run.
Ocala Heat piled up 21 hits in the game. Mason and Weldon each collected three hits for Ocala Heat. Landon and Camden each drove in three runs for Ocala Heat. Mason, Taylor, and Wyatt each collected multiple hits for Ocala Heat. Ocala Heat turned one double play in the game.
Game 2- Ocala Heat fell to the Tampa Bay Expos by 1 run.
Ocala Heat were the first to get on the board in the first when Camden singled, scoring two runs.
Ocala Heat added one run in the second. Beckett singled down the left field line, making the score 3-0.
Tampa Bay Expos flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on seven hits to take the lead, 5-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Jace H that drove in one.
Ocala Heat tied the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a double by Beckett, and a single by Samuel.
Ocala Heat took the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Weldon doubled to center field, Landon singled to left field, Mason singled to left field, and Camden doubled to center field, each scoring one run.
Ocala Heat collected 22 hits in the game. Samuel and Camden each collected three hits for Ocala Heat. Camden went 3-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Mason, Beckett, Mason, Landon, Weldon, and Copeland each collected multiple hits for Ocala Heat .
Tomorrow they have a chance for redemption against the Tampa Bay Expos at 11:30am.
