The Third Half Club is an organization established in 1939, by sportsminded men who freely devoted their time, energy and ingenuity toward supporting Nutley High School and community athletic programs. The monies raised by this organization has enabled us to support the following activities over the years:
- The Third Half Club Senior Awards Dinner honors graduating student athletes and students involved in related activities.
- The Third Half Club scholarship program has awarded $123,000 to deserving student athletes since 1971.
- The Third Half Club sponsors Nutley recreation basketball and baseball teams.
- The Third Half Club has been the driving force behind the Nutley High School Weightlifting Program.
- The Third Half Club presents Championship Banners which hang in the Nutley High Gymnasium.
- The Third Half Club organizes and conducts the John H. Walker Basketball Tournament for elementary schools.
- The Third Half Club has instituted the Nutley High School Athletic Hall of Fame. You can do your part to help us continue 70 years of community involvement by supporting our programs, patronizing our advertisers and most of all, supporting the kids. We have been fortunate to enjoy State Championships which have been won by several NHS teams in recent years. Let's not forget that every student athlete is a CHAMPION, merely by participating. Our annual dues are only $20.00. Join us as we meet the coaches and athletes during their seasons. Refreshments are served.
