Insight Coaching, Living Inside Out Husband father friend coach My life's mission is to serve others by guiding individuals and groups to realize and create their greatest possibilities.

Through Vistage, I amplify my impact by harnessing the power of collective wisdom, helping CEOs drive their businesses forward while reaching their full potential as leaders. I lead a trusted circle of leaders—a powerful alliance of men and women dedicated to growing their businesses and themselves. We tackle pressing business challenges using our collective experience and a proven collaborative p

roblem-solving process to fuel professional development, unlock new opportunities, and drive sustainable success. With over thirty years experience, ten years as co-owner of a $200MM wealth management practice, and twelve years as a coach, I've partnered with Vistage to create a peer advisory group of 12-16 high-achieving CEOs and business owners. Our goal is to connect leaders, improve leadership skills, and accelerate growth. My group provides a safe, purposeful, and supportive space for leaders to learn and grow—an antidote to the isolation many CEOs experience. We meet monthly to address challenges, make tough decisions, and brainstorm growth opportunities. I'm seeking growth-oriented CEOs and business owners committed to collective success. Ideal members are honest, direct, and receptive to peer feedback. Our group thrives on mutual support, with each member actively contributing to everyone's development. Beyond our monthly group sessions, members benefit from individual monthly coaching with me, addressing critical personal and business challenges.

PARTNERING WITH THE UNKNOWN

I had no idea how I was going to reinvent myself.

I wanted to champion accomplished leaders seeking greater possibility for themselves. Where would I find them?

I had been someone who played it safe and small. Who would I need to become to be their champion?

I began with questions I couldn’t answer.

And I began with confidence.

I had learned that the unknown is where wisdom lives. I had come to know the formless unknown as a powerful, intelligent force, which I could count on to guide me. I call it my guidance system, my personal GPS.

It’s simple. I speak a question, I declare who I am and what I want. Then I listen, I allow, I surrender. I say yes to whatever appears, even the smallest offers.

I walk through the dark and unknown forest, creating my path, following the breadcrumbs.

Until I found what I was looking for.

I love feedback: How do you navigate the unknown? Where do you turn when you’re all out of answers? I’d love to hear from you.

What's Not Small?

It’s Never too Late to start over

When I turned 70 last year, there was no more denying that the final chapter of my life’s story had begun. The faithful blue horizon towards which I had been sailing all my life, which had always receded in lock-step with each new year, was now unarguably growing closer. It looked like the last horizon.

What do I want to create with whatever time remains for me? I asked.

I have been exceedingly fortunate. I am blessed to have created a joyful, loving, family, and personal life, with a comfortable home in a peaceful wooded valley. I’m proud of what I’ve created; it seems like an accurate reflection and expression of who I am, and all that I have ever wished for.

What do I wish for now?

There is one domain of life where I still feel unfulfilled—my creative and professional life. While I have had multiple careers and my share of success, all ended prematurely, short of the what I had hoped for. I’ve wondered about this pattern and over the past several years, I have come to the realization that what had stopped me every time was created within me, by me.

But I’ve changed; I’ve figured out how to get out of my own way. And I’m owning my power to create.

The paradox of growing older is that although I am becoming slower in body and brain, inside I feel like a twenty-something, excited, alive and eager to begin my journey anew.

With an understanding that time is short, and every moment is a second chance, I’m setting sail again once more.

This vlog is my journey.

Quarter-Life-Crisis: Navigating by Your Inner Compass

“An alarming number of college graduates are feeling uncertain about their future," said my colleague.

We were discussing our recent experience with coaching twenty-somethings. One of his former clients, now in their twenties, had recently written him, “I took this great job and I'm making good money….but I'm really unhappy. I don’t get it. Where did I go wrong?”

As we shared our stories, it appeared that we were glimpsing a larger trend. A little research confirmed my suspicions. Among the several reports I read, a Harvard Business Review story summed up how the world of work has changed dramatically over the past twenty years, particularly in its impact on young adults.

“There are nearly fifty million twentysomethings in the United States, most of whom are living with a staggering, unprecedented amount of uncertainty. Most have no idea where they will work or where they will live in five years. They don’t know if they are a day or a decade away from a promotion, or when they will be able to pay their bills.”
Meg Jay, HBR, August 2020, ‘Recent Grads are Drowning in Uncertainty”

Over the past year, I worked with several men and women ranging in age from 20-29, each of whom, in their own particular way, was stalled and adrift in their professional life.

I’m always looking for new ways for my clients to experience greater impact and more value from the coaching. I’ve been a professional coach for nine years now, and about a year ago, I was introduced to Solution Focused Coaching (SFC). When I first witnessed how it empowered clients in coaching conversations, I knew that it would help my clients achieve quicker results and more satisfying outcomes. As soon as I could, I signed up for a year-long SFC program, taught by the inspiring and insightful Dr Haesun Moon, at the University of Toronto..

I’ve now completed the SFC program and am thrilled with how solution focussed coaching enriches my clients’ experience and results. There’s still more for me to learn, however, on the road to mastery. Which means practice. To that end, I’m offering a couple of people 3-5 sessions at a heavily discounted rate (current rates range to over $200/hour). It’s a good deal both ways: you get some inexpensive professional coaching; I get an opportunity deepen my understanding and practice SFC.

What can Solution Focussed Coaching do for you? SFC is an innovative and efficient methodology that recognizes that each of us has the innate knowledge, wisdom, and experience to create the solutions we need for a purposeful, and engaged life. SFC draws on our innate capability to resource within ourselves whatever it is we need to meet goals and overcome challenges. You can experience the impact of SFC in as little as one session, but I recommend a minimum of three to experience its full benefit and impact.

Some possible applications for SFC.
