The Club is delighted to announce that Mark Bateman has been appointed as the Men’s 1st Team Head Coach.
Mark is a well-regarded coach with years of experience in high-level hockey. He is currently the England U21 Head Coach, as well as the Head Coach of the Great Britain Men’s Elite Development Programme squad.
He joins the team at an exciting turning point. With the league transitioning to semi-professional, the Team has a huge opportunity to recruit some very exciting home-grown and overseas talent. Mark will be instrumental in this transition as part of the Club’s long-term strategy to compete seriously in the League.
Mark will be joining a new First Team Management group that will see new faces join a management team with decades of experience with the Men’s 1st Team, including David Griffiths (Chairman), Gareth Griffiths (Captain), Tom Eves (Manager), Stephen Wood and Richard Stamp (Assistant Coaches) and Cellan Griffiths (Communications).
CHAIRMAN, DAVID GRIFFITHS SAID:
“I’m really excited to have Mark on board - it’s a fantastic turning point for the Men’s 1st Team, having seriously competed in Europe just 10 years ago, now is the right time for Mark to join the Bees as the league transitions to semi-professional.
“I have no doubt that he’ll bring new energy to our team, and we look forward to working with him.”
MARK BATEMAN SAID:
