Beeston Hockey Club are one of the most successful hockey Clubs in the country. The Men’s 1st and Women's 1st XI play in the England Hockey Premier Divisions. We run 16 adult sides providing hockey for beginners through to elite players. We play at Nottingham Hockey Centre, one of the country's leading hockey facilities situated in Nottingham where we deliver our Hockey in the Community programme.

We also have one of the largest and most successful Junior Sections in Europe.

He’s gone from joining the Bees on the side of the pitch at Colts age 5, to going toe-to-toe with the greats.

Congratulations to all of our players selected to represent **Beeston Talent Academy** at this weekend’s **England Hockey Talent Academy Cup**! 🌟

This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work, commitment and dedication each player has shown throughout the season. We know you’ll represent Beeston with pride, passion and teamwork.

A huge thank you also goes to every player who has been part of the Talent Academy programme this year. Every single athlete has shown incredible growth, resilience and a willingness to learn throughout their journey. You have all played an important part in making this programme such a success, and we couldn’t be prouder of your progress.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England U16 Call-Up for Lucy!

Huge congratulations to Lucy Carr, who has been selected to represent England U16 at the 8 Nations Tournament in Cork, Ireland! 🌟

Lucy and England will face three exciting international fixtures:

🇪🇸 Spain – 12 July | 5:30pm
🇳🇱 Netherlands – 13 July | 3:00pm
🇮🇪 Ireland – 15 July | 12:30pm

🐝 Since joining Beeston in 2021, Lucy has gone from strength to strength, proudly representing the club at U12, U14 and U16 level, the Talent Academy, and a number of Beeston Ladies teams before earning her place in the Ladies 1st XI squad for the 2025/26 season.

Her dedication and development have been rewarded with success, helping Beeston lift the U14 National Cup in 2024 and the Talent Academy Cup in 2025. 🏆🏆

The Club is delighted to announce that Mark Bateman has been appointed as the Men’s 1st Team Head Coach.

Mark is a well-regarded coach with years of experience in high-level hockey. He is currently the England U21 Head Coach, as well as the Head Coach of the Great Britain Men’s Elite Development Programme squad.

He joins the team at an exciting turning point. With the league transitioning to semi-professional, the Team has a huge opportunity to recruit some very exciting home-grown and overseas talent. Mark will be instrumental in this transition as part of the Club’s long-term strategy to compete seriously in the League.

Mark will be joining a new First Team Management group that will see new faces join a management team with decades of experience with the Men’s 1st Team, including David Griffiths (Chairman), Gareth Griffiths (Captain), Tom Eves (Manager), Stephen Wood and Richard Stamp (Assistant Coaches) and Cellan Griffiths (Communications).

CHAIRMAN, DAVID GRIFFITHS SAID:
“I’m really excited to have Mark on board - it’s a fantastic turning point for the Men’s 1st Team, having seriously competed in Europe just 10 years ago, now is the right time for Mark to join the Bees as the league transitions to semi-professional.

“I have no doubt that he’ll bring new energy to our team, and we look forward to working with him.”

MARK BATEMAN SAID:
“I am really excited to be working with Beeston on this new project, helping to bring a more semi-professional outlook through enhanced sports science, medical support, and a renewed focus on performance within the first team.

“It’s an exciting opportunity to be part of a project with real ambition - not just to make Beeston great again, but to re-establish the club as one of the top sides in the country.”

Beeston Boys U16s brought home silver medals at the Derby Grand Slam Indoor Tournament on Saturday 🥈🏑

Playing at the amazing Derby Arena, the team — mainly made up of our U15 squad plus Will B & Josh M fresh from GCSE revision — faced strong opposition from across the country.

After 2 wins and a draw, Beeston topped the group to reach the final four. A narrow loss to East Grinstead meant the final game vs Repton decided the medals.
Jack C-W struck early, then added another after Repton pulled their keeper, while Matt produced a string of brilliant saves. A couple of empty-net goals sealed the win and silver medals! 🙌

Huge thanks to our loud and constant supporters throughout the day 👏 Tired but happy after a brilliant display of indoor hockey!
