❄️ Huge shout-out to our amazing community! ❄️

We are beyond grateful for the people who make Iron Benders Fitness & Nutrition what it is.

First, a big round of applause for Bart Ellison and Don Miller 👏
These two didn’t wait for excuses — they grabbed our newest piece of fat-burning equipment (also known as… the shovel 😄) and got to work clearing snow so our members could get in safely.

And to top it off, Bart Ellison even jumped in a Bobcat and really went to work clearing out parking spots, making it possible for even more members to park and train safely. That’s next-level community support.

We also want to give a huge thank-you to City Councilman Pat Kirchner for coming out and clearing the sidewalks with his snow blower, and to Simeon for putting in the work with a shovel to help keep the area safe and accessible.

And thank you to our city leadership and street department for declaring a snow emergency and getting the plows out quickly. Because of that, the streets were cleared, parking was available, and sidewalks were accessible in front of the gym.

This gym is more than a place to work out. It’s people showing up, helping each other, and taking pride in our town. And we couldn’t be more proud of ours. 🖤

Due to the ongoing weather and to allow road crews to continue to get things cleaned up…we will not be staffed tomorrow, January 26th. All Monday classes (women’s MMA, yoga, MMA boxing and jiu-Jitsu and cardioboxing) are cancelled as well.

Please stay home and keep warm. Be safe!

Due to the ongoing winter storm, the Governor has declared a state of emergency for Indiana. Travel advisories remain in effect for emergency personnel only, and temperatures are expected to drop below zero tomorrow as snowfall continues.

As a result, the City of North Vernon will be closed on Monday, January 26th, 2026, for all non-essential offices and employees. Additional updates regarding closures later in the week will be shared as conditions evolve. The City Council meeting originally scheduled for Monday evening has been postponed to a future date that is yet to be determined.

We thank our essential employees for their continued dedication and service. Residents are encouraged to stay safe, avoid travel if possible, and remain alert to changing weather conditions. Please follow the pages below for updates and important information.

🥶 Let’s help our city street department get our roads plowed and keep us all safe!!

🌨️ Stay home and keep warm! We will not be staffed tomorrow, Sunday, January 25th in anticipation of the weather.

⚠️☃️ PUBLIC NOTICE - REQUEST FOR PARKING RESTRICTIONS DUE TO WINTER WEATHER ☃️⚠️

With heavy snowfall and extreme cold expected in our area this weekend, residents are strongly encouraged to move parked vehicles off city streets before snow begins. Removing vehicles from roadways allows The City of North Vernon Street Department and other local entities to plow efficiently and ensures first responders have safe and reliable access throughout the city.

Temporary No-Parking Request:
The public is asked to refrain from parking on the following streets during the time period listed below and to utilize alternative public parking when possible. We recognize that many residents live along these streets and apologize for the inconvenience. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

🕰️ Effective hours:

Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. through Monday, January 26, 2026 at 8:00 a.m.

Keeping streets clear of parked vehicles allows plowing operations to be completed more quickly and effectively and helps maintain access for emergency services during critical situations. Vehicles left on the street may become blocked in by snow for several days dependent on the amount of snowfall. Our staff is as prepared as we can be during this time, and we have entities on standby to assist.

Residents are also encouraged to stay home if possible during the storm to reduce accidents and prevent snow from becoming compacted on roadways. Due to extremely cold temperatures, snow and ice will not melt quickly, and roads may remain slick even after snowfall ends.
