Comedy Workshops with Dave Schwensen With the author of "How To Be A Working Comic." Former talent coordinator for TV show "A&E's An Evening at the Improv" and LA and NYC Improv comedy clubs.

Becoming a successful comedian takes more than just talent and luck. It involves preparation, experience, a knowledge of the business and knowing what is expected of you. Today’s top comedians developed their humor without conforming to any trends or formulas. Talent and originality are the keys to success. However, there are established business methods within the industry that new comedians should be aware of. Developing, writing and performing a stand-up comedy act, and learning how the comedy industry works from an insider’s point of view is what this workshop is all about. (It’s also a LOT of fun!)

Sending thanks to comedian Jeff Shaw for checking out our comedy workshop showcase at The Cleveland Funny Bone this past Wednesday. He always passes along worthwhile advice and shared experiences to the comedians.

Congrats to all the comedians in our comedy workshop showcase last night at The Cleveland Funny Bone. It’s not easy making your debut at a major comedy club with 200+ audience members watching – and waiting to laugh. This group did it! Great reviews from audience and FB staff. It was fun working with you and as always – keep laughing!

Cleveland Guardians fans still have three more games (believe!). With today’s playoff starting at 4 pm EST victory should be wrapped up by the time our comedy workshop showcase kicks off at The Cleveland Funny Bone at 7:30 pm. And if they’re still playing, we’ll have it on the large screen TV outside the showroom. In other words, a win-win situation!

Doors open at 6:30 and tickets will be available at the box office for only $8. BUT if you hurry, you can still take advantage of the FREE ticket offer by purchasing online and using the code GRAD when checking out. The box office link is below…

Closing the show will be Funny Bone favorite Anthony Mayo and hosting – all the way from Detroit – is Shelby Lane. Sandwiched between, each workshop grad (remember the code) will be going for BIG laughs.

The Funny Bone is located on the West Bank of The Cleveland Flats. If you’re in the area, we hope to see you there.
