The calm before the competition. As a new track and field coach, one of the messages we wanted every athlete to carry with them is simple: What’s the best that could happen?
Too often we focus on what could go wrong instead of embracing the opportunities in front of us. Competition isn't something to fear—it's something to welcome. It's a chance to discover who you are and what you're capable of becoming.
You are the best version of yourself when you compete. When you step onto the track, enter the ring, or line up for an event, you have the opportunity to challenge your limits, trust your training, and grow.
Run with passion. Compete with confidence. Embrace the competition. Every race, jump, and throw is an opportunity to learn, improve, and become stronger than you were yesterday.
Don't ask, "What if I fail?" Ask, "What's the best that could happen?"
Believe in yourself, trust the process, and enjoy the journey. Great things happen when preparation meets opportunity.

Avery has worked incredibly hard to earn her place among Ohio's best, and we'd love for Cardinal Nation to help cheer her on before she heads to state competition!

We are SHOCKED but NOT SURPIRSED!!! Why didn’t we know earlier today?! The state has adjusted several things throughout the season to allow for more athletic competition. This was the first year that each region was allowing the top 5 to automatic advance to state. This is partly because of how the state adjusted the divisions. Once we moved onto Regionals with De’Von, Kimber, and Avery, we recognized that there were 3 total regions - Chillicothe (where Triad was placed, Cuyahoga, Fostoria). Each region, then allows the top 5 to advance automatically to state. THEN, the state allows an ‘at large bid’ for the next 3 fastest time …. Drum rolll please…. Both 6th and 7th place from Chillicothe - Avery’s 7th place time is well within the top fastest times in the state!!! WE ARE GOING TO STATE BABY!! Congrats Avery!!!

Well, Cardinal Nation, we've got some exciting news! Her season is NOT over! 😮 We just received word that Avery Eaton HAS qualified for the OHSAA Division 5️⃣ State Track & Field Meet! 🤩 Woohoo! 👏👏👏 She will run 100m Hurdle Prelims on Thursday at 4️⃣:4️⃣5️⃣PM in Columbus! If you'd like to purchase a State Qualifier t-shirt, contact Mrs. Maruniak by Tuesday, June 2️⃣nd at 2️⃣PM so you can pick your shirt up on Thursday morning. ♥️🤍🖤

It was a perfect day for a PR! We couldn’t be more proud of all our athletes this season!

Congratulations on a great Freshman season, Miss Avery! 😊 She finished in 7️⃣th Place in the 100m Hurdles today at the Regional Track Meet. She ran a personal best of 16.07 seconds. 🤩 We are so proud of you and are looking forward to what you can achieve in the next three years. Cardinal Nation, let's give her some shout-outs! ♥️🤍🖤
