Good morning Fitch Lacrosse Family. Today is a very somber day…..for those of us who experienced it in real time, it is a day…..weeks….months…..none of us will ever forget. For our athletes - who were still as of yet, just a gleam…..take this day to learn. Talk to your parents and ask them where they were when they heard the news. Instead of going on TikTok, look up survivor accounts of that day. Look up the stories of tremendous courage and bravery from every day Americans, who gave no thought to their own lives, so that they might save someone else’s. These stories are why we should always live our lives in a way that their sacrifices were worth it.

Be brave and be strong in the face of adversity.

Take a moment today, please….and think of the 2,977 lives that were taken for reasons none of us can comprehend. Remember Welles….and understand why I present an award to one of you in his name.

FALCONS IN THE WILD!! Coach Scott Freyer battled it out against Coach Grant Butler and Senior Goalie Dayton Jackson tonight in the Groton Men’s Box Lacrosse League! Coach Butler and Dayton’s team came out on top…..this time, but both Coach Freyer and Dayton were strong in the nets. Come watch our Falcons Lacrosse Family play every Tuesday night at 7pm this fall….Groton Public Library rink!!

Keep everyone affected by this tragedy in your thoughts as they try to navigate through this horrible time. The Stonington Bears Youth Lacrosse family joins our community in mourning the heartbreaking loss of Torren O’Grady

Torren was one of our own—a Bears lacrosse player, teammate, friend, and part of a family that extends far beyond the field.

We ask our Bears family and our entire community including our local youth sports leagues to come together in remembrance.

Please leave a light on and a lacrosse stick on your front porch as a simple but powerful tribute to a young life taken far too soon.

Let every porch light shine for Torren.
Let every lacrosse stick remind his family that they are surrounded by a community standing beside them in love and support.

Excited to announce Debra Marie Shaw as one of our official Team Moms!! She was such a huge part of what we did as a family off the field this past season, so why not make it official?! Deb will be assisting Tracey and Andrea, and “learning the ropes” (aka deal with me and my requests 🙄) before taking over in 2028. Welcome to the team Deb!! We are so thankful for you!
