We had a blast racing under the Friday night lights last night! Started 3rd in our heat and finished 2nd. That put us starting 4th in the feature and I put the 22 on the podium for a strong 3rd place finish!

Wheeling this car and learning how to make an old car fast has been the most fun I’ve ever had. So thankful that my amazing wife Anna Messer deals with all of this craziness! Nobody sees all the late nights wrenching and the frustration when a change doesn’t work out. It’s feels so good to finally have this thing going in the right direction!

We had a blast last night at Ozark Schools Parents as Teachers Big Rig Night! I think the race cars were a huge success. I would say no less than 100 kids jumped in the drivers seat of both of them and the smiles and excitement was so cool! We gave away over 100 stickers and 60+ Williams Construction Company squishy hard hats! Can’t wait to do it again next year!

Racing is hard. Or should I say being fast is hard.

Made some repairs last week after a little tussle with the front stretch wall. I think it changed some geometry up because we came out in the heat race firing from the 2 spot and this this pushed like a dump truck into turn 1! That let three cars fly past me and I couldn’t make up any ground.

Made some tweaks for the feature that helped a lot, but missed on tightening the car up. Needed more drive and a bit more side bite.

Started 10th and finished 8th. Not bad considering I had to go tailback after getting caught up in a spun out car in front of me.

Some nights are harder than others! Have some parts to replace which has become the norm the last few weeks. We’ll regroup and be back at it next week!

What a night! It’s funny that on a night I threw down a DNF in the feature, was the most fun I’ve had in the car all season.

In the heat race we were supposed to start 5th but my buddy Mike had some technical difficulties so I moved up a fired of from 3rd. Finished 2nd in the heat.

Then came the feature. Started inside row 2 and ran a heck of a race! I’ve shied away from the cushion all season but last night finally got the guts to give it a rip. And let me tell ya, that was the coolest thing I’ve done in this car yet! If I would have stayed up there I think the outcome would have been much different, but late in the race u was driving in a few feet below it and just spinning the tires. On the white flag I got a little too close to the front stretch wall and showed it some love lol. The wheel je**ed and I thought I either cut a tire or broke so I pulled off the track only to find that the car was fine.

Either way it was the best I’ve felt in the car all season. Seat time is so important in this sport! Ran 3rd for most the race and dropped back to 5th with a handful of laps to go. Big thank you to Cory Wilson for his help all season and huge thanks to Joey Potter for some quick tech help and a HOG of a motor! Can’t wait to get back on the track! We’re getting so close! 🏁🏁🏁
