VEGAS, BABY! Two new games just landed in Huckleback!

This one came straight from the golfers at Lake Forest Country Club. They have their own twist on Vegas, so they asked if I could add it to Huckleback.

Of course I could. 😎

Introducing LF Vegas (Lake Forest Vegas):

18 holes: Partners change every 6 holes
9 holes: Partners change every 3 holes
Built as a team game for groups of 4
🦅 And for those who like a little more danger: LF Vegas (Eagles Double)

I've also added traditional Vegas and Vegas (Eagles Double) as Quick Match games for 2-v-2 play.

This is exactly how I want Huckleback to grow. Golfers ask. I build. You play. Huckleback keeps score.

A little golf gear unboxing!!

Picked up an order from Desert Fox Golf — a Golf Caddy and a couple of Maggy phone holders.

If you’re using your phone on the course for GPS, scoring, music, or keeping up with the group, having it somewhere you can actually see and reach it makes a huge difference.

Looking forward to getting these out on the course and putting them to work — especially with Huckleback running all round.

Try Before You...Register!!
Guests can now join a round in seconds, follow live scoring, and play with their group without creating an account first. When they're ready, they can convert that guest account into a registered account and keep everything they've started.

This is just the beginning. Future updates will let guests explore even more of the app before deciding to subscribe.

Share your round like never before. Take a snapshot of your scorecard while you're playing or after you finish and send it to your buddies or post it on social media with a tap.

Golf has taken a bit of a back seat lately. Life has thrown a few curveballs my way, but I'm still doing everything I can to keep improving Huckleback and building the features you've been asking for.

The next update (v1.15.2) should be available soon...I'm just waiting on Apple's review process. Android users can already grab it on Google Play.

One of the new additions is a Round Summary that you can snapshot and share with your buddies during/after the round. It's a simple feature, but one that a lot of users have requested.

A few people have also asked if I actually get to play and what I shoot. I do...just not as often as I'd like these days. My handicap has drifted up to 5.4 (LOW HI: 3.1), but I finally put together a solid round. No blow-up holes, and best of all...no 3-putts (aka SNAKES)! The new putter has earned its spot in the bag...Odyssey Golf Jailbird S2S Tri-Hot Jailbird I got for Father's Day.

One feature at a time, Huckleback is becoming the golf app golfers love to use. I think it's already one of the best apps for groups and individual golfers...the rest of the golf world is about to discover it. Thanks to everyone who continues to support this solo developer. There are plenty more features on the way.

Six years ago this month, I started building an idea.

Today, Huckleback is a golf app used by golfers across the country with live scoring, GPS, leagues, advanced stats, team games, side games, match chat, and features that continue to grow with every release.

And here's the part I'm most proud of...

Every screen. Every feature. Every bug fix. Every late night.

Built by one person.

There isn't a large development team behind Huckleback. No investors. No venture capital. No marketing department.

Just a golfer who believed there had to be a better way to keep score and make golf more fun.

Competing with companies that have teams of developers, designers, and marketing budgets isn't easy—but that's exactly what makes this journey so rewarding.

The best part?

I honestly feel like we're just getting started.

The next chapter includes a completely reimagined navigation experience, a much better guest experience, easier registration, smarter match features, and even more ways to make golf more social and more fun.

Golf is better together.

One of the latest additions to Huckleback is Match Chat.

Now every match has its own conversation where your group can:

Talk a little trash.
Celebrate great shots.
Coordinate tee times or who's bringing the drinks.
Make sure everybody is playing it down and putting them out.
Keep the conversation with the round instead of bouncing between text messages.

The goal has always been bigger than building a digital scorecard.

I want Huckleback to become the app your group opens before the first tee...and keeps open until the last putt drops.

Next up, I'm shifting my focus to making the app even easier to get into:

A completely revamped navigation experience
A much smoother guest experience
A faster, simpler registration flow

The easier it is for your golf buddies to join, the more fun the round becomes.
