One of our 8th grade Vikings was in an accident earlier this week. As a Vikings Baseball Family we have been thinking of ways we could help.

Andrea and Brent Schmitz donated this awesome deer blind from their company, Better Way Outdoors.

Vikings baseball players will begin selling raffle tickets next week. 400 tickets are available. Tickets will be $20 apiece.

We will draw for the blind on October 23 at the girls home basketball game.

Please reach out or see your favorite baseball player to buy tickets. We anticipate having the tickets ready for sale next week!

When a sports season comes to an end it is often bittersweet. There can be many ups and downs along the way. This particular Vikings baseball season was no exception.

However, in this coach’s opinion, the ups definitely outweighed the downs.

Yes, we came up short of our goal of a Regional title tonight. We lost to a very talented and very well coached Carthage Blueboys team. Their bats were hot and their pitching was the best we had faced all season. Losing sucks, but losing is a part of life. When we met after the game I told the boys that the response we would have to this loss is to use it as fuel. We will use the feeling to push ourselves to want more, to work harder, to expect more out of ourselves, and to achieve more goals in the future.

We want to wish the best of luck to Coach Burling and the Blueboys…. hopefully they bring a State Title back to Hancock County!

Our final record for this year is 9-6. All of you know the improvement that was for us. We made it to the regional championship as a 2 seed in our regional. We saw great team performances, amazing individual performances, and so much growth as ball players and as young men this season.

Be proud! I know I am. I promised these boys that I’m not going anywhere! I’ll be there helping them as Vikings and in the future as Titans. The future is bright for these boys and I feel blessed to be a part of it.

The rebuild is complete, now we reload and set our sights higher!

The Vikings finished their regular season with a win tonight. This win brought our record to 7-5.

Saturday morning we begin post season play versus the winner of Thursday’s LaHarpe v/s Bushnell game.

C**t Teel got the start tonight and pitched well. The Vikings dig a bit of a hole and had to fight back for the W.

Three more practices to prepare for playoffs are next on the to do list. These boys have a list of goals and we are well on our way.

The Vikings fall at home tonight against West Prairie.

However, we still had a good night honoring our 8th grade players.

Those boys have given a lot to the program and they make the fans and parents proud.

We get one more home game next Tuesday before post season play.
