Newport Penguins Swim and Dive Team The Newport Penguins Swim & Dive Team is a summer recreational Swim & Dive Team that is a member of the Northern Kentucky Swim League (N.K.S.L.).

The Newport Penguins Swim & Dive Team is a recreational Swim & Dive Team that is a member of the Northern Kentucky Swim League (N.K.S.L.). The Newport Penguins are open to any person from the age of 5 to 18 who meet the Team’s readiness requirements. The Team also offers Swim Lessons for children who are not yet team ready and to help develop water safety skills. The Newport Penguins are dedicated

to providing team members with the chance to develop and improve swimming and diving skills. It is also a fun way to spend your summer with old and new friends.

Penguins Families- the NKSL Night at the Red’s is Monday! Tickets for the game are $20 each, with $3 from every ticket going to the NKSL Mike Bresser Scholarship for seniors. The QR Code can be used for ticket purchases. Penguins will still practice Monday night for those who don’t go to the game. Also, the Team photo will be rescheduled until Monday, July 6th. Congratulations to our swimmers and coaches on tonight’s win against the Fort Thomas 🦈! The final score was 409/359. Thanks to everyone for making the post-meet Pool and Pizza Party, benefitting the NKSL Mike Bresser Scholarship, a success! Another GREAT night at the Vet’s Pool! Go 🐧!

Week Two of regular season competition is underway! Great job tonight, 🐧 divers and coaches! Congratulations to the Fort Thomas 🦈 for winning the dive meet 38/28. Next up- home swim meet against the Fort Thomas 🦈 on Thursday, and the theme is COUNTRY. The swim meet starts at 5:30, followed by a Pizza and Pool Party to benefit the NKSL Mike Bresser Scholarship. Pizza tickets- $5 for two pieces- will be sold during the meet. We hope you plan to stay after the meet for what is always a fun night! GO 🐧!!!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT- COACH ABBY SCHUCHTER

Abby Schuchter began diving with NKSL when she was 12 years old. Even though she never dove before, she immediately fell in love with the sport. She joined the Penguins that same year and has proudly been a member of the team for the past six years.

Abby began diving for Campbell County High School in 7th grade and continued throughout middle and high school. She made it to the KHSAA State diving competition 5 out of her 6 years of diving. In 2026, Abby took 6th place at the regional dive meet and placed 13th at state!

Over the years, diving has helped Abby grow as both an athlete and a person, teaching her dedication, perseverance, and confidence. For the past few years, she has also served as an assistant coach for the Penguins, sharing her knowledge and passion with younger divers. She loves helping others learn and develop their skills while encouraging them to enjoy the sport as much as she does. Abby is grateful for the friendships, opportunities, and memories diving has brought into her life and will always cherish her time with the Penguins.

This fall, Abby will attend the University of Louisville where she will study biomedical sciences. Best of luck Abby! We can't wait to see all that you accomplish in the future!

What a GREAT first week of the regular season! The Penguins beat the Oakbrook Piranhas 439/433! 🐧 Today, we held the annual Palooza, led by Megan Cady and Mindy Bailey! Special thanks to Lother’s Catering for the amazing breakfast! We are grateful for all of our volunteers and athletes for rockin the 2026 Palooza! Lots of athletes are now members of the prestigious 100 Club and 200 Club!!! Please turn in your donations to Coach Raine, Chris Boyd, or Megan Cady by July 2nd! We will celebrate the Palooza successes at practice on Monday, July 13!!!!
